authoritative answers to these un-
answered questions, by asking the
student body, A cross-section of
Canadian university students was
BLUEVALE
The first vice-president, Mrs. Lloyd
Felker, conducted the meeting of the
'Triple Group of the Ladies' Aid of
Knox Presbyterian Church in the Sun-
day School room. After all had joined
in singing a Thanksgiving hymn, Mrs.
Felker offered a prayer of thanks,
giving and Mrs. Raymond Elliott read
a portion of Scripture.
The treasurer reported $20.00 on
hand from the collection and auction
sale at the last meeting.
During the business period, it was
agreed to purchase a projector and
screen to be used for Sunday School
and Church purposes. The roll call
showed a. good attendance with very
few absent from either side. The
women quilted on two quilts which
will be completed at the November
meeting in the church when the talent
money will be turned in. The Novem-
ber meeting will see the result of the
attendance contest. Lunch was served
by Mrs. Burn Moffatt, Mrs. A. D.
Smith and Mrs. W. H. McKinney.'
Mrs, R. J. McMurray opened her
home this week for the meeting of
the Morris group of the Ladies Aid
of Knox Presbyterian Church, There
were nine members and four visitors
present. In the absence of the presi-
dent, Mrs. Roy Turvey presided. Mrs.
Alex Shaw read a passage of scripture
and Mrs. Frank Shaw led in prayer. ,
The meeting was unanimous on the
'question of purchasing a projector.
Plans were made for the annual family
night to be held in November at the
home of Mr. and Mrs, McMurray.
Mrs. William Elston invited the
ladies to her home in Wingham for
the next meeting, A quilt was quilted
and the hostess served lunch.
A large number of women attended
the Health Conference in the Com-
munity Hall this week sponsored by
the East Huron District Women's
Intitute. Members were present front
the Majestic Branch at Brussels, „Eth-
el, Moleworth and Bluevale also sev-
eral visitors.
Miss Helen B, Gardiner of the In-
stitute Branches Toronto, was the
special speaker. Her subject was
"Health Before and After Forty." She
spoke on Digestion; Circulation and
Respiration. The value to the body of
rest and relaxation. Some of the chief
causes of death; Health rules, includ-
ing food, clothing, cleanliness, exer-
cise and. play. She advised a medical
check-up periodically and told her aud-
iences to avoid worry and fatigue and
learn to take things as they come.
A sing-song was enjoyed with Mrs.
Douglas Hemingway of Brussels as
pianist. Mrs. M. L. Aitken moved a
vote of thanks to the speaker. Re-
freshments were served by members
of the Bluevale W.I. at the close of
the meeting.
At the Dominion Film 1.3oard Pic-
tures in .the Community Hall this week
ceremonies relating to Newfoundland
joining Canada were shown; - also
spring round up of logs in British
Columbia; shearing sheep,. branding
cattle, pasturing cows in the Swiss
Alps, anitary handling of milk, wheat
harvest, oil harvest. A mile below the
wheat and come to the fair a jolly
picture in color with a sing song in
which the audience all joined.
Friends and neighbours of James
Hair; of the 3rd. line of Morris and
his bride, the former Miss Evelyn
Scott of the 2nd. concession, joined
in sponsoring a social gatherisg in the
Community Hall on Friday evening.
Ralph Sawyer, 3rd., concession read
an address and Laurier Black made a
presentation of a sum of money. Mrs.
Charley Johnston, Blyth and Harvey
Edgar, friends of the bride, performed
a similiar function. Mr. Main speaking
on behalf of himself and his bride
thanked their many friends for the
expression of friendship and their good
wishes, Lunch was' served including
wedding cake, Dancing was enjoyed to
the music of Tiffin's Orchestra. Mr.
and Mrs. Mair will reside in the 3rd.
line of Morris.
Miss Elizabeth Aitken of Winnipeg,
retired Public Health Nurse, is the
guest of her sister-in-law, Mrs. M. L.
Aitken, her niece, Mrs. Donald Street
of Listowel and many other relatives
in Ontario.
Mrs, L. H. Bosnian of Winghana,
and formerly of Bluevale, visited this
week with her friend, Mrs. Arthur
Shaw.
Mr. and Mrs. Cecil Rolph, Mr, and
Mrs. Dalton Rolph, Mr, and Mrs, La-
verne Rolph and son, Wayne, all of
Mitchell, visited their cousins, Mrs,
Laura Kirton, Mrs. Curtis and Miss
Margaret Curtis.
Mrs. Alex Armstrong annd Mrs.
Henderson of Brussels, were recent
guets at the home of Mr. and Mrs.
R. H, McKinnon.

Mrs. Margaret Nicholson, I3elgrave,
spent a few days with her sister, Mrs,

Mrs. Clifford Adams and family of
Londesboro, Miss Jennie McEvers of
Wingham,
Mr. Arthur 5. Fox of Brandon,
Manitoba, is visiting with his sister,
Mrs, McCrackin and Alex, He also
visited Niagara Falls and was accomp-
anied by Mr. annd Mrs. McCrackin,
his sister, Mrs. Adams of Wroxeter,
his siter-in-law, Mr. S. C, Fox of
Brusels and his aunt, Mrs. Thomas
Jaeklin of Wroxeter, who is 84 years
of age and enjoyed the trip as well as
the younger members of the party.
Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Hales and
daughter of Zurich, were Sunday
guests with Mr. and Mrs. Wallace
Agar. Miss Wilda Agar returned to
