II/ of players from Wingham, had a
friendly game in the village park one
night last week. A good crowd turned
out to encourage the boys and the
home team won a decisive victory.
United Church Sunday School held
their annual picnic in the, village park
on Tuesday, Juhe 28th.
Mrs, Alex Wright is spending a few
weeks with Mr. and Mrs,. Win. Lowe
at Barki,vay, near Gravenhurst.
Mr, and Mrs. John L. MacEwen
recently spent a day at the O.A.C.,
Guelph.
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs.
Redge Newton, who on Monday cele-
brated their 31st. wedding anniversary,
M. Newton has been for some weeks
a patient in Wingham General Hospi-
tal. Their many friends wish Mr, and
Mrs, Newton good health and many
happy wedding Anniversaries.
The sympathy of friends is extended
to Miss Isabella McDowell in the loss
of her sister, who passed away recent-
ly in England.
A successful sale of household
furnishings, property of the late Mrs,
Archie"McDonald was held on Satur-
day, The home was also sold, Mr. Ira
MacLean being the purchaser.
Wroxeter Village Park Invites You
The warm summer weather is here
and picnics and get together's are in
order, Right at horrid in our own vil-
lage is a pleasant place for an outing.
Through the efforts of the village
council and Wroxeter Community
Club. Tables and swings have been
provided and the park is well lighted
for baseball and other sports. A shady
grove of maple trees adds to the pleas-
ure of those picnicking. The village
park 'is yours, make good use of it
through the summer months.
Pal-Mocha Shrine Club Enjoy Banquet
Members of the Pal-Mocha Shrine
Club from Harriston, Listowel, Monk-
ton and other surrounding towns join-
ed with local members on Thursday
night of last week to enjoy a banquet
served by the Women's Association of
the United Church, 33 members and
guests were present. At the supper
hour musical numbers were given by
Art and Andy Gibson, Mrs, Harold
Hamilton, favored with solo numbers
accompanied at the piano by Miss
Mary Gibson. Dick Carson of Gorrie,
entertained with comic songs. The
ladies of the W. A. were given a vote
of appreciation for the delicious meal.
Executive members then retired to the
home of Thomas Burke for a business
meeting.

Mrs. George Lane will be hostess to
the members of Wroxeter Women's
Institute for their regula'r meeting on
Wednesday, July 6th, at. 2.30 p.m.

will arrange the Worship service. Mrs.

there to become principal of public
school at Drumbo. Joe is the only son

sisters, Mrs. Ellsworth (Lena), and
Miss Laura, both of Fordwich, Ser-
vice was conducted on Tuesday in
Trinity Anglican .Church, Fordwich,
by Rev. E. 0. Lancaster of Wingham,
with interment in the Fordwich ceme-
tery. He ,was a member of the Angli-
can Church and of the L.O.L. and L.
0.B.A., who attended in a body and
conducted the service at the graveside.

members of Wroxeter Institute at the
recent East Huron District Annual
at Fordwich, The pageant was com-
posed of Canada and her 10 provin-
ces with music and spoken words,
each province displaying a main pro-
duct. It was in original arrangement
made by the members themselves. A
copy will he compiled and sent to the
Loan Library at Toronto for the use
of any W.I. group requesting it.

A weddiUg of interest to many in
this vicinity took place in St. And-
rew's Presbyterian Church, Hanover,
on Saturday, June 18th, when Hazel
Jessie, daughter of Mrs. McIntosh and
the late Wm. McIntosh of Hanover,
was united in marriage to Allan Hart-
well Fallis, son of Mrs. Fallis and the
late Wm. Fallis of Newbridge and
Harriston, On their return from a
trip to Ottawa, Montreal and New
York, the couple will reside. in Brant-
ford.
Miss Elva Foster underwent an
operation for appendicitis in the Pal-
merston Hospital last week.
A number from this district attend-
ed the Strong Reunion in the Hanover
Park on Saturday.
