Mr. Stewart MeNaughton received
word last week of the passing of Mr,
Geo. French, Winnipeg, following an
illness of three weeks The late Mr.
French was formerly a resident of
Wroxeter amid spent a year here more
recently. He is survived by one son,
Jim, of Winnipeg,
A number from this district attended
the funeral service's on Saturday for
the late .Mrs. John Graham of Ford-
wich. The former Margaret McKee of
Howick Mrs. Graham had been an in-
valid for many years. Surviving are
her husband and a son, Eldon of Tor-
onto. Funeral services were held in
Trinity Church, Fordwich on Satur-
day Rev. J. C, Caley in charge. Inter-
ment in Wroxeter cemetery.
Mr. and Mrs. Frank Graham, Ford-
wich, Mr. aand Mrs, Earl Baker and
sons, Gorrie, were „ Sunday guests of
Mr. and Mrs. Ste*art Higgins. Mr.
Edward Jacklin returned to Ford-
wick with the Graham's where he will
visit.

Mrs, George Stewart, Detroit, is
visiting her aunt, Mrs. A. J. Sander-
son. who, we arc pleased to say, is
making a good 'recovery.
°Mr. Joe Higgins, principal of the
Fordwich Public School and son of
Mr, and Mrs. Chester Hig gins has
undergone an ,operation for appendic-
tis during the past week, Joe's many
friends wish for him a speedy recovery.
A special Good Friday service was
held in the United Church. Rey. U. E,
Cronhielm in charge, and his subject
"The Cross,” The speaker ,said the
Cross was a refuge but it was also a
Banner which called for Service to
God and our fellowman. Miss Mary
Gibson was at the piano.
Master Donald. Gibson is spending
the Easter vacation with friends , at
Brantford,

During the first four days of May,
United Churches in the Northern part
of the Huron Presbytery, will have
the pleasure of hearing Rev. 4oward
Veal and !Mrs. Kenneth Wu, both
of China. Mrs. Wu will speak at
Wroxeter, Sunday, May 1st., at 11 a.
m., Salem at 2.30, Wingham at ? p.m.
United Church. On Wednesday, a
special Missionary Rally will be held'
in Brussels United Church commen-
cing with supper at 6.30, followed by
the service at which Rev. H. Veal and
Mrs. Wu will be assisted by Rev. E.
R. Stanway of Brucefield, a returned
Missionary from China, and Rev, W.
J. Wolfrey, 'Clinton, A cordial invita-
tion is given to attend these meetings.

responsible for the arrangement of the
flowers, some of which were hr mem-
ory of the late Mrs. Edward Jacklin,
placed there by members of her fam-

National Film Board Showing
The Connors Case, a film story of a
RCMP manhunt will be an outstand-
ingl picture shown by the National
Film. Board in Wroxeter Town Hall,
on Thursday of this week, April 21st,
aat 8.30 p.m. It is the story of Walter
Connors, a Regina salesman who drove
away on a business trip and never re.,
turned. It involves a murder hunt
beginning in Regina aand ending in a

this part of Canada was known. The

was illustrated with slides. Mrs, Ham-
ilton expressed the appreciation of the
W.M.S. to Mrs. Milne, the choir and to
all who by their presence at the ser-
vice showed their interest in the work
of the Missionary Society. Mrs. Timm
and Mrs. Hunter received ,the offer-
ing.
Cinderella Coming
The Musical Fantasy, Cinderella,
will be presented in the Town Hall,
Wroxeter, on Tuesday, April 19th, by
Brussels Talent and sponsored by the
1-lowick Lions Club. This old favorite
fairy Story, 5 acts of colorful cos-
tume. Music and actinge with more
than /0 taking part. This play has
been given three times in its home
town as well as surrounding towns
and should be attractive to old and
young.

The regular meeting of the Howlek
Ladies' Auxiliary to the Canadian
Legion was held on Tuesday evening,
April 12th, with a good attendance,
