Progressive Enchres for this season was held on Friday evening, when the usual good time was enjoyed by all, Prize winners for the evening's games were, ladies Mrs. Percy Ashton, /Gents high, C. P. Wahnsley, Mrs. Ashton was also winner of the grand prize, having the highest total score for the season, Miss Helen Strong was home from LoildOn for the weekend. Mrs. Alberta Smith of London, vis- ited Mr: and Mrs. Geo, Galbraith, over the week-end and attended the funeral, of her uncle, Mr, R. J, Warrell on Saturday. Mr, Clarence li,ennie, Assistant Ag- ricultural Representative of Clinton, has resigned. He will spend the sum- mer at the O.A.C., Guelph, and enter State College, Iowa, in September, Mr. Rennie made many friends here while assisting at the Short Course in January. Rv. W. J. Mr. and Mrs. James Johnston, of Arthur, attended the funeral of Mr. Warrell on Saturday and visited with relatives, The W.A. of St. Stephens Church will meet on Thursday at the home of Mrs. Geo. Anger. The Lenten Prayer Service will be held on Wednesday night at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Corbett. Mrs. Percy Ashton spent the week- end with Mr. and Mrs. J. Watson of Blyth. Mr. and Mrs. Alex Marshall and Jimmie of Stratford, . spent Sunday with the former's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Marshall. Hospital on Saturday morning. She had been a patient there for some tLii clays after breaking her hip. Funeral services were held at the United Church on Tuesday after- noon, following a private service at the home of her son, Mr, Glad 'Edgar, Mrs. Clifford Holt Friends here were saddened on Thursday morning to learn of the death in Listowel Memorial Hospital of Mrs. Clifford Holt, the former Norma King, of Fordwich, in her 33rd. year. She leaves to mcfarn her loss, her husband, Clifford Holt, three daugh- ters and two ,sons, all under twelve years of age. She was a member of the choir of Trinity Church, Ford- wich, and an 'active mediber of the Women's institute. A private funeral service was held at her home at 4 p.m. on Saturday, conducted by the Rev. J. C. Caley Interment was made in Fordwich cemetery Albert Edwards Duke Funeral services were held on Tues- day afternoon, from the M. D. Irvin Funeral Home for Albert Edwards Duke, who died in the Mount Forest Hospital, in hiS 49th year. He resided on the farm formerly owned by Mr, Dick Watters, east of Fordwich, com- ing here from the Sudbury district. He is survived by his wife, six sons and four daughters, -also four brothers, Robert John Warrell 4 well known- and respected resident of Howick .Township, Robert John Warrell, passed away on Thursday morning, at his home in Fordwich iu his '78th year. A.F. was killed in World War 11. Mr. Wtrrell was a member of the :Orange Hill Methodist Church and served on the Trustee Board. He was later a member of the Gorrie United Church. A private service was field 'on Saturday at his home in "Fordwich, and a public service in the Gorrie United Church at 2.30 p.m, The ser- vice was conducted by Rev, 'G. G. Howse and Rev.
