Many people from this area enjoyed the delicious turkey supper served at Grand Bend United Church Wednesday. Several parents from this area visited South Huron District High School and discussed the education of their children Monday evening. Douglas Walper spent Sunday in Toronto and visited the C.N. Tower. Recent visitors with the English's were: Mr. & Mrs. Russell Pollock, London, Mr. Sr Mrs. Ted Chaffe, Exeter, and Mr. & Mrs. Erroll Nephew, Woodstock. Mr. & Mrs. Harold Brophey travelled to Oshawa to see their daughter and son-in-law Ella and Gary Gibson recently, Little Craig Swart- zentruber is holidaying with his grandparents Graham and Anna Eagleson and family while his parents are on a trip to Florida. Mr. & Mrs. Russell Mellin were dinner guests Sunday with Mr, & Mrs. Murray Hamilton Thedford. Tara Larmer celebrated her ninth birthday Sunday . Kippfield Club wins By MRS. RENA. CALDWELL KIPPEN Kipfield calf club had a very successful year. At "Awards Night" hold in Clinton Friday. Lyle Kin- sman, son of Mr. & Mrs. Robert Kinsman received the Toronto-Dominion. Seaforth Branch award for the Champion All round showman. He also received the Murray Grant award for being Champion 4H Beef Showman, His brother Bill Kinsman received his sixth 4H project certificate. Paul Hoggarth, son of Mr. & Mrs. Al Hoggarth received the Huron. Cattleman's Association award for being the high beef judge at the judging competition held in Seaforth in the spring. Shower A shower was held at the home of Mrs. Grant Jones for Doreen Van Wieren Friday night. Mrs. Jones entertained the neighbours and friends with contests. Gifts were presented.by Chrystal Jones and the ladies were thanked by Doreen. The fowl supper put on by Kippen U.C.W. November 12 was a great success. Mrs. & Mrs. Eldon Kerr spent a few days in Michigan last week, Irvine Ferris held a very successful sale November 15. Ron Denys purchased the farm. Many guests were present for the service. Special music by the choirs under the leaderihip of Ruby Isaac, with Evelyn Curts at the organ was provided for the service. Douglas Woodburn ac- companied the organist with his guitar on the selection, "Let There Be Peace on Earth" and Rev. Moore chose for his sermon topic, "The Company We Keep." U.c.W. The November meeting was held at the home of Inez Woodburn with 19 ladies present, The worship service was taken by Doris Eagleson and Edna Woodburn. The theme was "Peace". 0 God and Father of Mankind", was sung followed by prayer, Scrip- ture was taken from Romans. Poems "Why Wear a Poppy" and, "Give Peace, 0 God Give Peace . Again" .were read. We were told that we must all pray for peace and promote it and when Christ reigns in the heart of all men there will be peace. We should strive for peace in our community and have love in our hearts for all people. Iva Lagerwerf the president conducted the business and plans were made for the Christmas Ecumenical meeting which will be held at Greenway. A nominating committee, consisting of Oliver Horner and Ruby Isaac were chosen, and other items of business were discussed. The Missionary benediction was read followed by a tasty lunch served by Ethel Pollock and Inez Woodburn. Evelyn Curts displayed her Brinsley By GORDON MORLEY The ladies Guild of St, Mary's Church held a very successful Christmas bazaar and tea Thursday in the church basement. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Lee on the re- cent arrival of a baby daughter "Andrea Mary". Mrs. Merle Lewis visited Tuesday afternoon with Mrs. Violet Allison and Kathleen Morley. A few families from the United Church congregation attended the induction ser- vice for Rev. Roberts, Sun- day in Carlisle Church. ‘ Angela Hodgson spent the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Morley. Mrs. Violet Allison and Kathleen Morley invited Gordon Morley for supper Sunday evening for his birth- day. Mr. and Mrs. Murray Carter were Saturday even- ing visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Jim Morley. Remembrance Day Ser- vice was held Sunday in The United Church.' The Honour Roll was read by David Lee and Bonnie Lewis read "In Flanders Fields", and a poem by Lisa Ryerson.
