Need help
'Martin Del3ruyn, an
executive of the Exeter
CentennialSoccer club, says
help is needed for the minor
teams in the upcoming 1981
season,
"We're appealing to
people to 'get involved," he
said. "Parents, former
players, or anyone who
would like to help in the
coaching and organizing of
the youngsters in the minor
teams, are wanted."
At present, he said, the
club promotes soccer for
around 150 players organized
into eight minor-division
teams. It also administers
the senior Exeter Cen-
tennials.
Mr. DeBruyn added that a
meeting of the club
executive, to which in-
terested people are invited,
will be announced sometime
in November.

South Huron won the game
49-25. Maja Gans led the
scoring with 12 points. Next
came Leslie Hunter-Duvar
with 11 and Faye Gaiser put
in 10 points,
Their second game of the
tournament was played
against Sarnia Central. This
time they were out scored
34-25 by their taller rivals.
Charlene Verbeek a first
year junior played well with
nine points.
The afternoon of Monday,
our girls hosted the team
from Woodstock-College
Ave. South Huron won 41-27.
Cindy Down and Faye
Gaiser rebounded well while
Maja Gans, a third year
junior lead the scoring with
16 points. Charlene Verbeek
also played well, The team
had a commendable 37 per-
cent shooting average, good
for this early in the season.
Wednesday, Woodstock-
Huron Park came to Exeter.
South Huron put up 28 points
and Huron Park 18.
There were alot of tur-
novers between the two
teams but they soon settled
down, Faye Gaiser had an
excellent game, rebounding
and intercepting well. She
also lead the scoring with 11
points.
Leslie Hunter-Duvar and
Maja Gans had a fairly good
game getting 8 and 7 points
respectively. Faye and Maja
gained a few points through
free throws sinking 34 per-
cent of their shots.
With such good repOrts
this early in the season the
team should be in excellent
shape when playoff time
comes around.
The team's first league
game was Monday when St.
