"We want to make it easier for you to own a no-wax floor! Because — let's
face it— buying a floor you have to wax is like buying a car you have to crank
by hand. Or a shirt you have to hand iron. Nobody wants the drudgery of
stripping off old wax and putting on new. With Armstrong Solarian , life is a
lot easier. The Mirabond® wear surface keeps its sunny shine far longer
than an ordinary vinyl floor. Every time you mop it clean, it really does look
just-waxed!
"That's why we're offering for a limited

Over 100 people gathered
at Klondyke Gardens south
of Grand Bend Thursday for
a discussion on potatoes.
Visitors travelled from as
far as Sarnia,Blenheim,
Strathroy, and Zurich to
attend the meeting. As well,
many of the potato growers
present were from the
Thedford-Grand Bend area.
After touring Klondyke
Gardens the group moved to
Allen Willsie's farm near
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sid
Homans of Grand Bend, and
Anne Waters daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Bill Waters of
Parkhill. Nina Linder is also
in the chorus. Her father is
Cec Linder who starred in the
Sunshine Boys earlier this
summer.
Annie Get Your Gun
provides good family en-
tertainment. It continues
with 8:30 evening per-
formances until September
6. Some tickets and rush
seats are still available.
Matinees will be at 2:30 this
afternoon and on August 30
and September 3, 4 and 6.
There will be one final
performance of Flicks, a
musical comedy revue put
on by the Young Players on
September 1.
Season subscriptions for
next summer are already
available. The playhouse has
come up with a list of 11
plays, promising that five
will be chosen.
A standing ovation greeted
the cast of Annie Get Your
Gun when they took their
bows on opening night,
Proving, that people still love
a traditional musical,
The production is well-cast
and includes a lot of good
voices. Sets: are excellent
and moved en and off with a
minimum of fuss and noise.
In all, it is a very
professional show,
The only area where it
suffers is in the
choreography. Dance steps
are simple and kept to a
minimum. In the one scene
where the dancing is em-
phasized, it looks to be very
confused. Director Robert
Lander tries to combine the
Indian dance with Zulu
warriors, Egyptian
movements, Charleston and,
heaven forbid, even disco. To
paraphrase a line from their
last production, Free At
Last, having Indians do disco
dancing, is, I think, an
insult to our native peoples.
Perhaps for their next big
musical, the playhouse will
be able to find funds to hire a
professional choreographer
instead of giving that im-
portant job to the already
very busy director.
Robert Landar's direction
worked well elsewhere, and
he was even able to play the
role of Pawnee Bill. Barbara
Young's musical direction
was nearly faultless, as was
the orchestra ensemble.
The only other complaint
with the show was pointed
out to me by Her Honour,
Lieutenant Governor
Pauline McGibbon. Mrs.
McGibbon said she was very
disappointed because she
couldn't hear the lullabye

Talk on potatoes
Thedford for a pork bar-
beque. Several experts on
potatoes spoke to the
gathering. Max Macgharles
of the farm products quality
branch and Sam Squire of
the Ontario Potato Board
talked about packing and
harvesting potatoes.
Plans for the Seed, Fresh
and Processing Potato
Marketing Boards were
discussed.
This week Allen Willsie
has gone to Ottawa to work
on a five province pact for
marketing potatoes. Potato
growers in Nova Scotia,
Prince Edward Island, New
Brunswick, Quebec and
Ontario are trying to
organize.

RObert Hall is perfect for
the part of the handsome but
conceited Frank Butler. Hall
and Wood were excellent
singing the number
"Anything you can do."
More evidence of good
casting was seen in Tom
O'Neill as Charlie Daven-
port. O'Neill has just the
right knack of talking out of
the corner of his mouth as
the busy wheeler-dealer.
And. Nancy Kerr is good as
Dolly Tate - a far cry from
her role as the Mother
Superior in Sound of Music
last summer.
Barbara Saxberg Land

and Tommy, the star-
crossed, lovers provide
laughs with her giggles and
his sighs, Don. McManus is a
powerful Buffalo Bill, and
Jack Van Evera's stoney
face is perfect as Chief
Sitting Bull.
The children in the cast
are crowd-pleasers and I
think the playhouse should
be commended for including
local talent.
Nine year old Darryl
Greenwood is an excellent
Little Jake, and plays the
part of teaching Annie to
read very well. Unfor-
tunately Darryl caught a
cold and was unable to
perform Saturday night. We
hope he's feeling better and
back on stage this week.
Darryl is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Greenwood of
Parkhill. He is a cousin of
Jeff Greenwood, who played
in Sound of Music last year.

chorus. They're 14 and their
parents are Mr. and Mrs.
Lindsay Cleland of London.

little girl who "bothers"
Charlie Davenport in the
opening scene. Jennifer was
one of the children in Sound
of Music last summer. She is
the daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Fred McCrindle of Grand
Bend.
Special mention should go
to the quartet. One of the
biggest laughs of the evening
occurs when they all wake up
from their nap
simultaneously and burst
into song. Immediately they
fall asleep again.
Members of the Young
Players fit well into the cast,
and add to the performance.
Among the singers and
dancers are Tracy Homans,
