we'll survive.
When we turn twenty, we
know we've mad it. Sixteen

eighteen was the age voting, My peers and I had to, wait

MR. AND MRS. HAROLD SOPER
The First Baptist Church in Dunnville was the setting for the
May 31 wedding of Erma Crisp of Dunnville and Harold
Soper of Zurich.
Rev. Ronald Hawkins of Dunnville and Rev. Clayton
Kuepfer of Zurich officiated at the ceremony.
Attendants of the bride and groom were Mrs. Jean Gurney
of Dunnville and Mr. Cyril Ginger.ich of Selkirk. The guests
were ushered into the church by Brian Keys of London, a
grandson of the groom and Douglas McCollum a grandsOn of
the bride from Dunnville. Also taking part in the wedding was
Mrs. Marilyn Hawkins of Dunnville who sang a special solo.
Following the ceremony, the bridal couple were taken by
surprise as a team of horses and wagon were waking to drive
the newlyweds around town.
A wedding dinner was served in the church basement and
80 guests attended in honor of Mr, and Mrs. Harold Soper.
Afterwards the couple left on a wedding trip to the east coast.

Now that I've reached
another so-called milestone
in life, I can, sit back and
reflect on all I've lear-
.ned..,There....that didn't take
long,
Take heart all new
members of the exclusive
Ws club. If .we believe the
song that was popular a
couple of years ago, we're
'not getting, older; we're
getting better.
I've decided to, take the
advice of a birthday card,
I'm not thinking of it 4s'.
, middle age; I'm thinking of
it as prime time, (The card
came from a sikteen-year-
old . Who else would dare to.
suggest 30 might be middle
age?)
Another card came in the
form of an insurance policy
which entitles me to the right
to finagle, lie,. evade and.
kibbutz about my age to my
heart's. content. (I've been
doing that for years, I kin,,
botzedabont my age so often
I almost forgot the truth)
When I was twenty, I
kidded people who were
thirty. about being older than-
I was, with emphasis. on the
'old,' Funny, now that I've
reached the milestone they
were at, it doesn't seem as
old as when was looking at
it from, the milestone of
twenty. Understand?
Furthermore the people
who are forty now don't
seem much older than me,
and I don't feel much older .
than the ones' who are
twenty.' Understand that ?
One of the mysteries of
milestones is that, when you
get there, the mystery is.
gone, Being thirty feels just,
the same as being twenty-
nine or Thixty-orte.
We attach great im-
portance to milestones of age
as we go throjigh life. flow
anxiously, kids wait for the
magic age of thirteen when
they enter teendoni, the age
of acne,. self-consciousness
and pretending we're having
