Boobie prize winners
were: Stew. McGregor and
Mike Diagre in possibly a
Ferrari but more than likely
a Buick. Chester and Dave
Mitton in their version of the
Starsky and Hutch vehicle,
The winners were required
to provide the refreshments
for everyone after the race.
But what did they do with the
rest of the money?
Tentative plans are in the
offing for summer ex-
cursions for the Beavers.
Keep your eyes on future
issues for more info.
Young drivers are
creating problems for our
citizens again this summer. I
would like to caution the
drivers about driving at high
speeds on the roads and the
lawns. It is not worth the risk
you are taking. One small
mistake can be very costly
for you and us.

At, midnight, on June ,21
while most of Huron Park
was readying for bed, five
cars with twelve people in
them, took off on the first
scumball rally.
Organized by Stew
McGregor and Mike Diagre,
the cars were to travel over
specified routes to Renfrew,
Ontario and back.
Bobcaygeon was the first
checkpoint where the drivers
were to take a photo of the
town's post office. This
proved to be a sore point as
there are two offices of our
Royal mail located there.
If you are planning a trip
toBobcaygeonthis summer I
would advise you to make
sure that you know the ad-
dress and phone number of
your destination because it
was reported to me that
there are no pages left in any
of the phone books in town.
Somehow they all disap-
peared.
The second checkpoint was
Renfrew. From there the
rallyists turned around and
headed to the third check-
point at Huntsville and then
to the final stop somewhere
near the Albatross.
One car containing
"Starsky and Hutch"
somehow arrived three
hours after the rest. Where
were they Lynett?
There was a variation of
only 2 miles by all the con-
testants. Standings at
completion were as 'follows:
Winners-Bill Blois, Debbie
Diagre and Debbie's sister
Diane; lid - Joan Davis,
Brian McCoy and NincY
Irwin; 3rd - Richard Rose
and Dave Broom,
