MESS CLEANED UP — Remains of a large number of dead pigs on a Stephen township
farm have been cleared away. As the result of a visit by veterinarians from the Health of
Animals Branch at Seaforth, the carcasses were removed from the property at part of Lot 8,
Concession 13. The farm is, currently unoccupied. T-A photo

Grey-Bruce was also
discussed. A meeting in-
volving the two adjacent

set up.
A fire early Monday
morning caused damage
totalling$75,000 to anUsborne
township farm.
Destroyed in the fire at the
farm of Fred Miller, five
kilometres south of Win-
chelsea was a barn which
contained 125 hogs.
Light easterly winds
prevented the fire from
spreading to adjoining
buildings, according to Peter
McFalls of the Exeter fire
department. Located 'near
the completely destroyed
barn was a shed which
contained an unknown
number of pigs.
Firemen remained on the
scene for three and a half
hours. The alarm was called
in at 2:17 a.m.
The wood and metal
structure was partially
covered by insurance,
McFalls stated.
No cause for the fire has
been determined.
