man to use the sea for his
livelihood, not to abuse it, as

Council debates
where to
print finances
We won! After some
debate, Grand Bend council
finally decided to publish
their financial statement in
the Exeter Times-Advocate
this year.
Clerk Louise Clipperton
said that last year she had
the statement printed in the
Lambton County Gazette,
and about 10 village
residents complained that
council had not used a local
paper. No one complained
about the contents of the
statement, although she had
several inquiries as to where
it was printed she added.
Reeve Robert Sharen said
that if no one complained
about the statement then
that indicated to him that not
many people read it. He said
that perhaps more people
would see it if it was printed
in the T-A.
Councillor Bill Baird said
that the ,statements should go
in which ever paper had the
cheapest rates. Mrs. Clip-
pertOn said she thought the
Gazette would be cheaper.
Councillor Keith Crawford
said that the T-A reporter
attends all the meetings, and
the statement should go in'
that paper,
After further discussion, it
was decided that they would
try printing the statement in
the T-A this year, and see if
any tax payers complain.
The Grand Bend Sun was
not considered.
