TEMPtEMAN A presentation of a Life Memhership to Mrs, Orpha Norris highlighted the May Meeting of the Staffa Women's Institute, held in the township hail Wednesday evening, The presentation was, made by the president, Mrs. John Miller and district president Mrs. John Tem pleman, 4-H members and leaders were also present at this meeting. Mrs. ' Carter Kerslake made the presentation of a spoon reek to. Ruth Harburn Staffa no, I. who has received her advanced honours for successfully completing eighteen '4-11 Homemaking clubs, Mrs, John Miller presented Mrs, Ross Balfour with a dinner bell for her leadership in 4-11 Homemaking and Mrs, Ken Hunsberger a cup and saucer for her provincial honours for successfully completing twelve clubs. Mrs, Hunsberger is also assistant leader for Staffa club no. 3, Mrs. Bert Daynard presented Mrs. Charles Douglas and Mrs. Dalton Smale each with a gardening book in. appreciation of their leadership for the short course on Indoor Gardening which was enjoyed this past winter, Mrs. Carter Kerslake presided for the Agriculture and Canadian. Industries meeting opening with the Institute Ode and Mary Stewart Collect. Mahon presented a very interesting paper on worm farming, stating that a investment of $850.00 would purchase 500 breeder/worms and equipment to begin a operation, Mrs. Charles Douglas reported on the recent Perth South district annual and Mrs. ' John Templeman reported on the officers conference which she had attended for the District in Waterloo. Mrs. Wm. Mahon demonstrated making novelty wall plaques using casting plaster. This was most interesting. A motion was made expressing our thanks to John Norris for programs and also thanks expressed to Mrs. Carter Kerslake and Mrs. 'Charles Douglas for the new curtains for the basement which were hung for the meeting. Trudy and Tracey Quance are recuperating after having their tonsils removed in $eaforth Community' Hospital, Friday. Mrs.Robert McCaughey is visiting in. London with her sister Mrs. Robert Miller. Darlene Templernan visited Wednesday evening with Liz Hartley from England who is spending smile time with her mother Mrs. Tom Martha, Mitchell. The final meeting of the South Huron Agricultural Society in preparation for the *980 Hensall spring Fair .was held Monday night. The Fair will be held at Hensall Community Park an. Tuesday, June 24 with a variety of events and en. tertainment. Activities begin at 6 p,m, with a parade followed by a horse show, baby show, talent show, and the judging of 35 •calves owned by the area boys and girls, This is followed by a sale of the calves, The 1980 fair will be officially opened by new Huron-Bruce Morrq Cardiff. More entries are still needed for the parade. Secretary Gladys McGregor said 11 entries had been received for the talent show. Anyone else wishing to compete should contact Diane Verlinde at 262-5608.
