Continuing the project
commenced in 1979, the W.I.
through the P.R.O. Mabel
Froats and president Vina
Emery, presented a flag to a
Grade 1 class in the Lucan
School. Next year a Grade 2
class will receive one, etc.
The Granton W.I. has also
commenced this project and
presented their flag to the
other Gride,l.
They were received and
the Branches thanked by
Marguerite McRoberts, Beth
Radcliffe and the principal
Wallis McLay.
UNITED CHURCH
Members of Lucan United
Church attended the 115th
anniversary service• of
Clandeboye United. Church,
Sunday, when Mr. Lloyd
Hutton of Kincardine,
Chairman of the Board of
Directors of the United
Church Renewal Fellowship,
was the guest speaker.
Mr. Hutton spoke from his
heart on the 23rd Psalm. The
choir, under the direction of
Winnie Robicheau sang four
lovely selections.
All members of the four
Lucan Churches who are
interested in helping with an
interdenominational Vac-
ation Bible School are in-
vited to a meeting at the
Revival Centre Thursday
evening at 8 p.m.
If you like to sing, come
out, also on Thursday night
at 8:30 to help swell the choir
for anniversary.

brands."
He pointed, out the sub-

the Deanery Meeting held in
Newbury on Wednesday,

The Rev, Mary Mills of
Glencoe, formerly of
Kirkton, gave the address
during the Communion
Service, and Mrs. Rita
Baker of Petrolia, Editor of
"The Living Message" was
the inspirational guest
speaker, telling how she had
been called to her work.

Six volunteers were in-
vited to share in tasting
jellos made from each
brand and most agreed that
the "Generic" brand was the
best! Three cans of peas
were opened for inspection
and here again the least
expensive, looked the nicest.
During 'intermission a
decorated cake was cut and
served with coffee. At this
time also, Mrs. J.S. Rad-
cliffe announced the Blood
Donors Clinic at the arena, in
the Leprechaun Room, on
Wednesday May 14, from 6 to
9 p.m. and asked for 50
volunteer telephoners, Many
offered to help in this way,
but more'are still needed. If
you can take a list please call
Mrs. Radcliffe at- 227-4632.
The history of beef
producing areas, meat
cutting prices, handling of
product, freezer wrappings,
deboning loin roats, cutting
up chickens, etc were
discussed by two gentlemen
from the meat department of
the same store, and one of
the. guests was given the
opportunity of trying her
hand at cutting up a chicken,
It looked as though the secret
lay in the knife used, as
much as the cutting process.

A trip to see "Annie Get
Your Gun" at the Htfron
Country Playhouse came
under discussion at the
meeting of the Sunshine and
Busy Buddies Groups at
their meeting on Thursday
afternoon. While quite a few
members were not in-
terested, there were a suf-
ficient number who were to
go ahead with plans to attend
a matinee performance on
whichever date in August or
September that the best
seats are still available.
A request from the
Women's •Institute for the
use of tables from the club, if
needed, for the District
Annual on Tuesday, May 13,
was approved.
No action has yet been
taken re hooking up the
ventilation fan and the
members felt this should be
done at once.
Birthday greetings were
extended to Jean Elliott,
Lawrence Hirtzel and Herb
Broome.
