shows students' talents

The 5th Spring Rally of the
U,S.C.O, was held in Hensall
United Church on Wed-
nesday,
Rev. Stan. McDonald,
Hensall was in.charge of the
Devotion after which Mrs,
Betty Qke clerk-treasurer of
Hensall in the absence of
Reeve Harold Knight
welcomed the seniors and all
in attendance.
A report by the zone
secretary, Mrs. Irene Johns,
Exeter and the treasurer Mr.
Charles Martene, Dashwood
were followed by the
President of each Club
giving a report of their club,
Following the lunch hour
Mr. Harry Baker introduced
the guest speaker Mrs.
Lavine Hamilton, Corr, Sec,
USCO who gave a most in-
formative and interesting,
address. Mr. Len Carter of
Bayfield thanked Mrs.
Hamilton and presented her
with a gift.
During a short executive
meeting to which all
Presidents attended, a Sing
Song was led by Rev.
McDonald with Mrs. Isobel
Rogerson at the piano. Mr.
Elmer Trick of Clinton
favoured with musical
selections at the piano.
Mrs. Irene Young of
Goderich was Chairman of
the Nominating Committee.
The election of officers
was conducted by Mr. Harry
Baker as follows: president,
Mrs. Nola Love, Dashwood;
first vice president: Mr.
Percy Blundell, Goderich;
second vice president - Mr.
Frank Hooper, Brussels;
secretary -Mrs. Irene Johns,
Exeter, treasurer - Mr.
Charles Martene, Dashwood.
Following the election of
officers the new president
spoke briefly.
Courtesy remarks were
given by Mrs. Irene Young,
Goderich.
AT CONFERENCE
Mrs. Carl Payne attended
the thirty-second annual
officers conference of the
Federated Women's
Institute at the University of
.Waterloo last Tuesday,
Wednesday.
Mrs. Hazel Luther who
spent the winter months with
her daughter and son-in-law
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Slade
and Glenn and Mr. and Mrs.
Eric Luther left on Saturday
for her home in Newfoun-
dland.
The Spring Concert at
Hensall Public School on
Thursday evening featured
ukulele selections, recorder
selections and a variety of
plays. The music was
directed by Mrs. Jane
Hnatyk. Mr. Robert Raeburn
principal of the school was
chairman. The ukulele group
under the direction of Mrs.
Hnatyk presented "Ezekiel
Saw a Wheel" and "When
the Saints Go Marching In".
The Recorder group - -
Grades 7 and 8 di "Born
Free", "Amazing' Grace"
and Together song".
Mrs. Stoneman's grade
one class performed a play
"The Adventure of the Little
Red Hen".
The kindergarten class
under the direction of Mrs.
Preszcator sang "Umbrella
Song", "Look Who's Coming
Up Over The Hill" "Pussy
Willows",Daffodils" and
"Robins":
Grades 3 and 4 under the
direction of Mrs. Jacobe
presented plays: "Talk A
Tale of Mexico" and
"Goldilocks and the Three
Bears".
The school choir directed
by Mrs. Hnatyk sang "Come
Round Any Old Time"
"Consider Yourself at
Home" "I'd Do Anythingu
and "Who Will Buy ?".
Mr. Eric Mansfield's
grade six class presented
"Au Restaurant".
Grades two and three of
Mrs. Deichert presented a
play with music "Charlie
Brown's Baseball Game".
Grades five and six of Mrs.
Horner gave a play "Shiny
Red Apples" and the Grade
sevens of Mr. Pearson gave
a play "How Clowns Came
To Be".
The Choir sang "New
Realities", Together Song",
"With a Little Love" "Sing a
Rainbow and "Shalom".
The Grade eight of Mr.
Raeburn presented
