represented. In the session I
attended the Yukon was the
only area not represented.
Some of the activities
included a film on Canadian
Unity, the effect of
Americanism and Canadian
problems.

cluded, Governor General,
Edward Schreyer, James
Hurley, „from the con-
stitutional office, J. Tait
from the Privy Council of-
fice, J. Marchand, a member
of the Senate and Jean-Marc
Hamel, the chief electoral
officer.
Those are but a few of the
many speakers who gave up
their time to help the
students learn about the
process of government.
On March 25, Miss
Monique Begin, Minister of
Health and Welfare spoke to
us. One student surprised the
Minister by asking her if she

Liberal Party. She was
astonished, !
Seminars on the House of
Commons, the Senate and
the Supreme Court of
Canada were held in the
appropriate buildings in
Ottawa. Over the period of
one week, there were more
than twenty seminars,
lectures and discussion
groups.
Time was set aside for
meeting with Members of
Parliament.- I had the
privilege of having a couple
of meals with Ralph
Ferguson and his wife (M.P.
for Lambton-Middlesex)
which proved to be very
interesting.
All of the students taking
part in the program stayed
at Ashbury college, an
Independent Boy's School in
Rockcliffe Park. My
roommate was a girl from
Montreal who spoke French
only so we made good use of
our English-French
dictionaries which we had
taken with us. I enjoyed her
company very much and we
hope to continue our friend-
ship.
