Harold and Doreen Fink-
beiner returned last week
end from a four week trip
with the Huron Cattlemen's
Association to the South
Pacific, including stops in
Hawaii, New Zealand,
Australia and Fiji Islands.
They were guests with a
farm family in Australia that
own over 22,000, acres, They
raise mostly cattle,sheep and
rice on this farm.
The temperature in
Australia got as high as 104
degrees. Fahrenheit.
One of the big highlights in
Australia was an afternoon
of Kangaroo hunting (by
camera) in a 3000 acre bush.
A total of 44 area people
were on this trip to the South
Pacific. The Finkbeiners
returned with great sun tans.

A group of friends sur-
prised Ed Turnbull, last
Friday evening for the oc-
casion of his 75th birthday.
Card games were enjoyed in
the social time, followed.by
lunch and birthday cake.

daughter, Sabrina, of Zurich,
were Sunday supper guests
with Ken and Ortha Baker.

The cdngregation of St,
James Anglican church
enjoyed a social evening
Shrove Tuesday, with a
pancake and sausage sup-
per. Pancakes were cooked
by Alan Hill and Joe Cun-
ningham, with the ladies of
the church assisting.
Rev. Kirby, who is at
present the•interim minister,
and his wife attended and
enjoyed the friendly country
atmosphere and food. The
evening concluded with a
few games of progressive
euchre.
The sympathy of the
Community is extended to
Mrs. Tom Gilmour and
family in the sudden death of
a loving husband, father and
grandfather.
Sandra and Chuck Sch-
wanke and boys Darryl and
Paul of Edson, Alberta, are
spending two weeks with
Sandra's parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Rupert Williams.
