Tuesday at 1:50 a.m. a vehicle driven by Davin Dekergommaux, RR 1, Arva program, Ted Hall, a Grade 8 student . from Biddulph School, gave his third-place winning "History of Lucan" which was most interesting and informative. Salon 174 got three first period goals to power them past the Blues. Don Murray opened the scoring as his shot from behind the net deflected off a Blue defender into the net. Ron Keys scored two consecutive goals to build the Salon lead to 3-0. Both of Keys' goals came when he was parked in front of the net. In 'the second period; Don Coughlin made it 4-0 as he completed a two on one. Jim Thomas then got the Blues first goal on a power play as he stole the puck and fired a quick shot by Keith Ewer. Gord "Common Sense Nutrition" was the topic dealt with by Mrs. Rae Clemens of the London- Middlesex Health Unit and United Church Sunday, being the first Sunday of Lent, Rev. Keith BroWn based his sermon on Luke 9:51 saying that "every aspect of the life of Jesus . was planned and He made• sure that He followed God's plan for Him." Our life too is planned but if we do not follow God's plan, He can do nothing to help us. We must remember how Jesus died for us on the cross of Calvary. Jesus looked beyond the torture of the cross to the glory of taking His rightful place on the throne at God's right side. Surely what He has done for us should move us to let Him have His way in our lives. Let us believe in Him and follow Him more fully. The flowers in the Sanc- tuary were from the funeral of Mr. Arie Dehann and his family is remembered in prayer. All couples of the Church are invited to hear a representative from the London Men's Mission speaking on the work of the Mission at the meeting tomorrow evening at 8:30. Gary Isaac scored his two goals in the second period, His first goal went off a Green defender behind Garrison and his second goal came after he jumped out of the Penalty box, took a pass from Gary Revington, split the defence and deiced Garrison. Moon then scored on a power play for his second of the game. The Hackers exploded for five goals in the third, four of them by Taylor. Bill Boshart scored the Hacker's fifth goal as his shot from the point beat Garrison. Taylor then scored his four goals, all of them assisted by Gary Isaac. It was not only a terrific "learning" afternoon, but also one of fun as Mrs. Clemens led in several learning games, and Mrs. Gosselin demonstrated three different recipes and one nutritious beverage. She was assisted in making the "beet muffins" by Bernice Lockyer of the Lucan .W.I. President of the Sunshine Group, Mildred Hirtzel, welcomed guests froth Riverview W.I., the "Happy Gang" from Ailsa Craig, Clandeboye, Lucan and Granton W.I. "Indoor Gardening" Achievement Day will be held Monday, March 10 in the Ilderton Community Centre commencing at 1 p.m. when Mr. George Blais New name for 4-H club "Watt Watchers" was the name chosen by Lucan No. 3 4-H club at their opening meeting on Wednesday evening, February 20, at the home of Jane and Annette Straatman. These two girls also prepared pork "Chinese Style" which was really enjoyed by the other members. The leaders, Mrs. Don O'Neil and Mrs. Gerald Straatman discussed the utensils used for preparing this type of food. Jane and Annette will be hostesses for the meeting again tonight. Wednesday, when the discussion will centre around Mexican food.
