Just as the baby eagles
,become confortable in their
nest, so we often get too
content as we are. But just as
there becomes a time for
mother eagle to stir up the
nest to get them to fly,
catching them on her wings
until they learn to fly, so God
has to take away our com-
forts to make us grow as
Christians.
Sometimes this is the only
way God can get us to grow,
as Christians, all the time
watching over and protec-
ting us, showing us His
power and might.

"Common Sense
Nutrition" was the topic
dealt with by Mrs. Rae
Clemens of the London-
Middlesex Health Unit and
United
Church
Sunday, being the first
Sunday of Lent, Rev. Keith
BroWn based his sermon on
Luke 9:51 saying that "every
aspect of the life of Jesus .
was planned and He made•
sure that He followed God's
plan for Him." Our life too is
planned but if we do not
follow God's plan, He can do
nothing to help us.
We must remember how
Jesus died for us on the cross
of Calvary. Jesus looked
beyond the torture of the
cross to the glory of taking
His rightful place on the
throne at God's right side.
Surely what He has done
for us should move us to let
Him have His way in our
lives. Let us believe in Him
and follow Him more fully.
The flowers in the Sanc-
tuary were from the funeral
