Monday they were edged 5-4 by the Goderich Merchants, they dropped a 7-3 Thursday decision to the Exeter Mohawks and Sunday af- ternoon defeated the Cen- tralia Marauders 9-3, Sunday afternoon the Sher woods scored four unanswered goals in the first period and notched two more early in the second before the Marauders found their scoring range. School picks top speakers On Thursday, l'reCious Blood School held their inter- school public speaking contest. Greg Fleming, school trustee representative, and Laurie Kraftcheck, principal of Precious Blood were the judges. The speeches were dif- ficult to judge because of their wide variety of topics. They ranged from the four seasons to babysitting to daydreaming to com- mercials to the funniest of all, methods of delivering speeches. Mr. Fleming, before an- nouncing the final standings, stated that all students who participated were winners. The final standings with topics are listed beltriet Grade 3-4 - 1, Fred Gregus, the four seasons; 2, Pattie O'Toole, figure skating; 3, Ron Walker, water; 4, Mike Rankin, soccer. Grade 5-6 - 1, Mary Bir- mingham, babysitting; 2, Jeff Mittelholtt, the bike; 3, Jeff Ducharme, day dreams; 4, Vincent Parent, comics. Grade 7-t - 1, Susan Gregus, Mother Teresa; 2, Neil Kaer, Methods of delivering speeches; 3, Cathy Hogan, television commercials; 4, Patricia Berten, suicide. The top two ih each division will now go to St. Boniface in Zurich to compete in the zone finals against Bole St, Marie, Mt. Carmel, and St. Boniface. The winners at these mil- petitions will then compete against the other zone winners of the Huron-Perth Separate Sheol Board for the 0.E.C.T.A. trophies.
