Exeter now meets Port.
Dover, who. ousted Aylmer
by a similar 3-1 count. The
set opens Friday night in
Port Dover at 8:00 and shifts
back to the South Huron rec
centre for a Sunday game
starting at 6:00 p.m.
The locals were full
measure for the win as they
dominated play' throughout,
but some inaccurate
shooting and stellar net-
minding kept St. Marys
close.,
Jim Lovie started the
locals off toward their vic-
tory over St. Marys when he
took a pass from Pete
Tuckey and blasted a hard
shot from thepointthat found -
the mark in the first period.
Dave Shaw then blistered
another drive from near the
point on a play with Bill
Glover and Tuckey to make
it 2-0 and Ed Willis gave
them a three-goal, lead
midway through the econd
with Shaw drawing the
assist.
After St. Marys narrowed
the gap at the 9:24 mark of
the final stanza, Willis came
up with his second goal of the
night to regain the three-goal
bulge with Mike Murray and
Jamie Chaff e drawing
assists.
The visitors scored with
less than two-minutes to go,
butthat was as close as they
could get.
Pete Parsons had a
relatively ,easy time
recording the win between
the pipes, but made a couple
of key saves in the last half of
the game as St. Marys
battled to stave off
elimination.
Pee wees out
The Exeter pee wees
bowed out three straight in
the first round , in OMHA
playoff with St. Marys when

rec centre, Wednesday, in
the third tilt. They were
shut-out 1-0 and 4-0 in the
first two games.

coached by 'former Exeter
Hawks puckster,. Brian
testard.

early in the third period and
then wrapped in two more to
clinch the victory.

Johnston scored the Exeter
tallies with Lovie picking up
one assist and others going
to John Wells and' Ted
Lawson.

pair of tilts this week, losing

McLean.

one each were O'Connor,
Steve Lingard, Dave Russell
and Danny McLean.
Waxers win big
The Exete, Waxers rolled
to their most lopsided win of
the season when they hosted
Thedford in an exhibition tilt
at the rec centre, Sunday.
The novice crew won
12-1, giving' them an in-
dication of what it feels like
to be on the -long end of a
scoring binge for a change.
Doug Clark and Jeff Rowe
paced the attack with a hat
trick performance each.
Singles were fired by Robbie
McLelland, Laurie
Chalmers, Tom Rolph,
David Josephson, Alan
Blommaert, Jeff Chipchase
and Larry Lewis.
Clark and Graham
Arthur led in the assist
department with a pair each.
