The male quartet, Messrs. Doug Gill, Robert Blair, Sam Skinner and Bob Heywood sang at the Special service in the Carlisle United Church Sunday morning. Dr. George Tuttle, the Moderator of the United Church was the guest speaker. Mrs. Gill played the piano accompaniment for the quartet. Mr. and Mrs. Gerald Hamilton and family, London, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Korevaar and family, Lucan were Sunday dinner guests with Mr., and Mrs. Richard Shoebottom and family. Senior citizens met in the Community Centre Monday for an afternoon of crokinole and cards followed by lunch. Mr, and Mrs. Ray Jaques, Steven and Susan were Saturday evening visitors with Mr. and Mrs, Fred Bowden, Steven and his grandpa were celebrating their birthdays. The annual congregational meeting of the Centralia United Church will be held in the church schoolrooms this coming Sunday January 20 following the morning service and will be preceded by a pot luck dinner. Mr. and Mrs. Otto Darling and Murray Carter were in charge of the euchre party at the Community Centre Monday night with 13 tables in play. Winners were: Ladies high-Mrs. Jack Dickins; Lone hands-Mrs. Les Gibson. Men's high-Mrs. Charles Railings playing a man's card; lone hands-Bill Dixon; low-Russell Morley. The travelling prize was won by Mrs. Russell Brown. Mr. and Mrs. Prank Hicks will be in charge of the next euchre party to be held in two weeks. Garrett on January 9 before going to London to tour the John Roberts school for the deaf. Following the tour the members returned to. Mrs, 'Garrett's home for the rest of their meeting and lunch. Mrs, Cliff Hardie new president of Unit (4) was the hostess for their meeting on January 9. Opening with Lesson Thoughts on "Winter, its beauty, and its uses" followed by the scripture, Mrs, Hardie closed the devotions with prayer. The Roll call was an- swered by the paying of membership fees, The program was convened by Mrs. Nelson. Tate and Mrs, Norman Riddell, and con- tinuing with the current study on the parables, Mrs, Tate 'presented a paper entitled "The Lost" this referred to the lost son, coin, and sheep. A good discussion followed. Mrs. Ridden read a poem, Two new members were welcomed, and Rev, Morden closed the meeting with the Benediction. Mrs. H. Wissel and Mrs. A. He spoke to the children of the Word, Church, with the centre letter "U" and without "U" • there would be no Church. Ontario Milk Marketing Board annual meeting, held in the Royal York, in Toronto, on January 8, 9, and 10th, with a total of ap- proximately 1300 delegates attending.. Each county in Ontario was represented. Also about 30 Dairy Princesses attended as well as the Ontario Dairy Prin- cess, Charlene O'Neil. January 8th at 8 o'clock everyone enjoyed a wine and cheese reception with various wines and numerous cheeses, Wednesday opened a series of business meetings. The annual report was read followed by the financial statement.
