Wayne Smith, Dave Shaw, Rick Lindenfield, Mike Murray, Dave Underwood Despite a very poor season record to date the Lucan Ilderton Jets came up with a very important victory, Sunday in OHA Continental senior league play. The Jets scored an im- pressive 7-2 win over the Preston Jesters and kept their hopes for a playoff spot alive. Sunday's win was the second in their last three starts for the Jets after being involved in a 20 game losing streak. They had started the season with wins over two of the -strongest teams in the league from Petrolia and Chatham before falling on hard times. Former Jets manager Don Urbshott who is now contact man for the team with the OHA told the T-A Monday morning, "We still have a good chance to make the playoffs. We are only two games behind Preston in the important loss column and have two games in hand. We also meet the Jesters in two more scheduled games. They will be must contests."' The two big games with the Jesters will be in Ilderton on February 10 and back in Preston on February 15. Urbshott reported that regular goalie Peter Crosbie was injured in the third period of Sunday's game and could be lost to the team for as long as a week. Urbshott added, "We have three important games coming up this week and the loss of Crosbie will hurt. Backup goalie Dan Murray took over when Crosbie was hurt and stopped all shots fired his way. The Jets will be in Strat- ford tonight, Wednesday to meet the Perths, Friday night they will be at home at the Ilderton arena to the Chatham Maroons and Sunday they travel to Cambridge.
