A Christmas party
highlighted the December
meeting of the Women's
Auxiliary to South Huron
Hospital. Entertainment last
Tuesday afternoon was
provided by 12 year old
Miriam Van Essen who
played a selection of
Christmas carols on the
piano, recorder and ukulele.
The staff of the hospital
took the opportunity to en-
tertain the auxiliary. Head
nurse Audrey Pooley looked
after the program, and
director Tom Hudson
welcomed
to
auxiliary.
Prior to the Christmas
party a short business
meeting was held. It was
decided that Mrs. Westcott,
Mrs. Davis and Mrs. Brock
would form a committee to
look into making changes in
bylaws and the constitution
of the auxiliary. Beth Batten
suggested that they might
also look into changing the
name of the group, now that
they have a male member.
Charlie Smith joined the
auxiliary last month.
A loan of $300 from the
auxiliary to the new gift shop
was paid back. The loan was
extended to the gift shop to
get them "on the road",
president Mrs. Earl Camp-
bell said. She was pleased at
how promptly the shop was
able to pay the debt.
There were 44 present for
the Christmas meeting. The
group will not meet again
until March 11.
