There were events planned for all par- ticipants including the non- swimmers and if noise and cheering are indicators of a good time, then everyone enjoyed the afternoon, Our thanks to Goderich Recreational Co-ordinator, Jane Netzke for arranging this event and for seeing that ribbons were awarded. The second group of five students from the Agricultural College are now with us on Wednesdays. They have carried out a number of activities in- cluding the making of lemon tarts, tea biscuits, pizza, milk shakes and have the seniors braiding hot mats. Our skating program is into its third week. This year eight' of our students are walking to the arena. We also have the assistance of the Centralia College students who come back to the arena after lunch to tie up skates and help on the ice. We are very appreciative that Edith Boyle thought of us when she was clearing out some decorations from her store. We now have several boxes of artificial flowers and Christmas decorations to use in our craft lessons. Thanks to Mary and Frank Boyle for delivering these and the Christmas trees. This year all of our pupils are bowling. In order to do this we have divided the students into three teams with five on each team. This means that ten pupils bowl each Week and five remain at school. Everyone has a chance to bowl two weeks out of three. Our beginning bowlers are doing very well. They are remembering to wait their turn and to bowl only three balls. Last week we were joined by two High School students from Y.A.C.M.R. Since our new renovated facilities include a washer and a dryer we have decided to help out our friends from the Centralia College while gaining skills in sorting, washing, drying, folding and ironing. Last week the senior class laundered the shirts and socks for the eighteen member hockey team. We also expect to do the laundering of the towels, aprons and cloths from the Home Economic kitchens at the College. The seniors were taken on a tour of A.R.C. Industries on Tuesday. After the tour they were able to join the em- ployees for ltmch in the cafeteria. Discover our exciting collection of gift ideas chosen es- pecially for you and your lifestyle. When you buy a gift, you can't get the price sticker off, and if the price is written on the box, nothing will cover it up. You wrap the gift with tender loving care: it looks beautiful until you turn it over and discover the paper was too thin; the name on the lid of the box shows clearly through, and you don't have a bow or a tag big enough to cover it. A family of four always wants to use the bathroom at the same time. Ditto the telephone and the car. The phone rings just after you've sunk into a tub of hot bubbly water. The hot water tank gives out when you have lavishly lathered your hair with shampoo. When your hair is foaming, your eyes are clamped tight to prevent soap stinging and your fingers are slippery, you can't find the shower lever. When Mommy's talking on the telephone, kids react in one of three ways, One, they want to sit on Mommy's knee: two, they beg to say "hi" even though they don't know the person on the other end of the line; and three, they start a fight with their brother or sister. Call Grandma long distance, put little Tommy on the phone and tell him to say "Hi, Granny!" The kid clams up, He just shakes his head and smiles while poor Grandma quizzes him.
