An astounding number of
cases of poisoning are
reported each year, of which
80 percent are suicidal at-
tempts involving mostly
teen-agers and folk over 55
years.
Of these 10 percent are due
to adult carelessness and 10
percent are children who
accidentally take some form
of poison.
Mr. Merani knew of four
such cases reported in
Exeter during the last six
months.
The government has taken
safety measures in an at-
tempt to prevent these
happenings, but closer in-
spection would be beneficial.
