was on a Remembrance day
theme, of soldiers who
served in the World Wars
and heroes in history.
The choir sang an in-
spiring anthem "Glory Glory
Hallelujah."
Flowers decorating the
church sanctuary this
morning were placed in
memory of the late Eric
Mc]:lroy.
The Sunday school
children attended the first
part of the morning service.

Lunch hostess was Marian

ladies will be hosting the
Christmas Ecumenical on
December 4th.
Last Monday evening, 18
members of the 60 plus club
met at the Church of God for
a pot luck supper.

Mrs. Meta Sinclair. Next
meeting is December 10th.

Following the Remem-
brance Day ceremony, a
luncheon was served at the
Legion Hall,
Those who died in war
were remembered Sunday
when seven wreaths were
laid at the cenotaph at Grand
Bend cemetery.
The ceremony took place
following service at Grand
Bend United Church. Legion,
members and cubs attended
church and paraded to the
cenotaph.

scored two victories this
week in the South Huron
intermediate hockey league.
November 2, the Mariners
scored a 6-5 victory over the
North Middlesex Merchants
of Parkhill and a week later
they downed the Thedford
Browns by an identical 6-5
count.
Friday night the Mariners
will meet Parkhill in a return
match at the Stephen
township, arena at Huron
Park,
Against Parkhill, the
Mariners took a 3-1 lead at
the,end of the first period,and
were never headed.
Ken Moody fired two
Grand Bend goals in the first
five minutes of the game.
Mac Richardsbn assisted on
both scores and Tom
Richardson contributed one
pass.
The third Grand Bend goal
in the first 20 minutes of play
came from the stick of Dan
Stanlake on an unassisted
effort while Don Van
Massenmoch replied for
Parkhill.
The only goal of the second
period was notched by Gary
McLeod of Parkhill.
Tom Richardson increased
the Mariners lead to 4-2 at
1:57 of the third period on a
three-way combination with
Rick Moody and Steve
Schroeder.
Parkhill came right back
with a goal from Tim Poore
only to have Steve Batko
score for the Mariners on
passes from Pete Gill and
Pete Gil.
Bruce Furtney scored the
final two Parkhill goals and
Mike Desjardine notched the
final GB marker on a play
started by Rick Moody and
Dan Stanlake.
The Mariners also got off
to a flying start in their win
over Thedford by scoring the
first three goals of the game.
The game was less than a
minute old when Rick Moody
converted passes from Mike
Desjardine and Tom
Richardson to put the
Mariners ahead.
Another minute later Joe
Fusett beat the Thedford
goalie on a pass from Pete
Gil and before the period was
over Mike Deajardine scored
with the assist going to Bob
Lovie.
Rick Moody scored two
goals for Grand Bend in the.
middle period with assists
being provided by Mike
Desjardine and Dan
Stanlake.
The sixth and winning
Grand Bend score came
from the stick of Pete Gil.
The assist went to Pete Gill.
