The Citizen, 2007-12-20, Page 39We asked the Grade 1 students
at Grey Central Public
School...
What would you have for
Christmas dinner?
“I would have all of my friends
come over and we would have
turkey and potatoes and apple juice
to drink.
To cook it, I think it would take
probably 10 minutes for the
potatoes and 12 minutes for the
turkey.” - Brent
“I would have turkey and
potatoes. Cooking the turkey would
probably take about an hour.”
- Kirsten
“I would have lasagna with
vegetables and noodles with
some vanilla cake for dessert.
I think the lasagna and the cake at
the same time would take like an
hour.”
- Megan
“I would have turkey and salad
and vegetables and potatoes with
some chocolate ice cream cake for
dessert.” - Stephanie
“I would have turkey, just
turkey and maybe some rice
krispie squares for dessert.” -
Wesley
“I would probably have turkey
and potatoes and vegetables with
some chocolate ice cream for
dessert.” - Shelby
“I would have turkey and chicken
and beef and pizza and mashed
potatoes.
Then for dessert I would have
blueberry pie and chocolate cake
with chocolate ice cream.
I think it would take about four
hours to cook it all. You’d have to
bake some and then take them off
and bake the other ones to save
time.” - Todd
“Tacos. It’s my favourite food
that’s good for you. Then for dessert
some candy from my Halloween
bag.” - Taylor
“I would have turkey and potatoes
and vegetables and carrots. Then for
dessert I would have cupcakes and
apple pie.
The whole thing would probably
take an hour.
You’d have to kill
it first, then take the feathers
off, then put it in the oven and
cook it and then you’d have to
wait until it was ready.”
- Jacob
“I would have grilled cheese and
then a chocolate snowman for
dessert.” - Rachel
“I would have deer and some
pizza and then some chocolate for
dessert.” - Brooklyn
“I’d have turkey, but usually I’dpick pizza maybe with somepumpkin pie after. I think it wouldall take about a half hour.” - Blake“I would have turkey and grapes
for Christmas dinner, then some
cookies and chocolate ice cream for
dessert. Me and my mom could
probably make it in two minutes.”
- Emily
“I’m not sure. I can’t really think
of anything.” - Isaac
“I would have peas and corn and
chicken, then maybe some
chocolate ice cream for dessert.
I think it would take like 10
seconds to cook the peas and corn
and then like three minutes for the
chicken.”
- Claire
“Probably potatoes and turkey
and peas and beans.” - Alexandra
“I don’t know.” - Tyler
“I would have potatoes and hot
dogs and then maybe some vanilla
ice cream.” - Sarah
“I would have cookies and corn
and potatoes and chicken and some
milk. Then some cake and some ice
cream and some apple pie for
dessert.” - Hudson
“I would just have what my mom
was cooking.” - Simon
