The Brussels Atom Rep team
hosted Blyth last week in hockey
action.
It was another shutout for goalie
Matt McNichol, with the help of
defence, Reece McArter, Luke
McCutcheon, Scott Dolmage and
Colton Hastings.
There was tremendous pressure
from both sides as each battled to
take the lead.
Brussels took the 1-0 sweep from
Blyth with Mitch Kellington
scoring the only goal, assisted
by Lexi Smith and Hayden Ten
Pas.
Brussels will see more hockey
action as they participate in
the Wingham Atom Silver
Stick.
The Saugeen Maitland PeeWee A

in the annual Whitby Girls Rep

***In Junior district playdowns inForest our junior men’s team wereedged in a close one and lost one tothe eventual winners. It was,
however, a great experience for the
boys.
As the local team consisted of
three Bantam curlers, Kyle Forster,
Matthew Hallahan and Matthew
Cottrill, the boys were up against
curlers older and more experienced
yet they put up great efforts and we
are mighty proud of them. You’ll
hear more from these fine curlers at
their next competition, the Bantam
zone playdowns when they will be
against opposition in the same age
bracket. Don’t be surprised if you
find these fine young curlers
representing the club in the bantam
district playdowns soon.
We are all pulling for you boys in
the Bantam zone playdowns.
***
The Junior ladies’ team from
Exeter with Kayla Bishop as lead
certainly made their presence felt at
the playdowns at Forest. The girls
came up with two big wins but fell
short of advancing to the
provincials. It was a great
experience for Kayla Bishop and
we are mighty proud of this very
keen young curler. Well done,
Kayla!

The daytime curlers Christmas
dinner will be held on Thursday,
Dec. 13.
