The Citizen, 2007-10-18, Page 35THE CITIZEN, THURSDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2007. PAGE 35. Continued from page 34 Rev. Cook noted that Thanksgiving should be a time of outreach, a time to extend a warm welcome to others. In celebrations with family, give thanks for the blessings in life, not take them for granted. It is a time, also, to thank God for the gift of Jesus. To show gratitude to God believers should have a special relationship with Him. Be still and He will come was the message for finding this relationship in life. Londesborough United will hold its anniversary service on Sunday, Oct. 21. Bob Heywood will bring his particular style of ministry to the congregation that day. Along with Bob’s music, there will be selections by both the junior and senior choirs. Attendees are encouraged to bring along finger foods for fellowship following the service. At 1:30 p.m. that afternoon, the Capital City Chorus will present An Afternoon of Song. There will be a free-will offering. Refreshments will follow. The Shakespeare to the Shoreline travel program was developed and is supported by tourism representativesfrom Perth and Huron Counties,Stratford, Goderich, St. Marys andHuron East and was acknowledgedas a winning marketing partnershipby the Ontario Tourism MarketingPartnership Corporation, a branch ofthe Ontario Ministry of Tourism and Recreation. “This is an honour for our regional partnership’s travel program, Shakespeare to the Shoreline, to be acknowledged by our industry associates as a good strategic regional marketing program. Our mutual goal is to bring visitors to our area and intrigue them to stay longer, travelling the historic Hwy. 8 and exploring the areas of Perth and Huron Counties and the charming communities. The economic impact of appealing to a specific demographic with time and money and the interest in travelling close to home is significant. This program is also a great opportunity for our residents to explore their own back yard with their guests, taking time to ‘tour, taste and linger’ in our area” said Laurel Armstrong, the travel program co-ordinator. The strategic partnership is also supported by the Municipalities of Central Huron, Bluewater and the Huron Tourism Association, along with Perth Community Futures Corporation and the Huron Business Development Corporation.Promotional activities for thisregional marketing partnershipinclude brochure distribution intarget markets in nearby urbancentres, media support for travelwriters to generate articles inregional lifestyle publications, attendance at special consumer shows including the Stratford Garden Festival, Women’s Shows and the Chrysler Arts, Beats and Eats Festival in Pontiac Michigan. The Shakespeare to the Shoreline program offers self-guided tours with themes that appeal to visitors and residents and includes special shopping information called Taste Trek as well as dining and accommodation selections. The webpages offer complete maps and route information. During 2007, five additional routes were included in the program, directing travellers to more communities and sites north and south of Hwy. 8. Special accommodation packages are highlighted provincially in the Shakespeare to the Shoreline Great Fall Drives program at Ontariotravel.net web pages.
