The Citizen, 2007-10-18, Page 34If you happen to be in Hullett
Central school on Wednesday, Oct.
24, you may be surprised at the
amount of red and white you see.
Pupils are being encouraged to wear
a Canada-style shirt that day because
of a special visitor, Micheal
Mitchell, a Canadian children’s
performer.
In the morning Hullett pupils in
Grades K to 3 will host pupils in the
same grades from Holmesville and
Colborne. At noon, Micheal will
entertain pupils from Grades 4 to 6
with songs about the history of
Canada.
There may be some significant
reinforcement of lessons through
this fun time.
Cookie Bite #12: Pessimistic
means, How awful, how absolutely
dreadful, I only have half of my
cookie left.
Cookie Bite #13: Optimistic
means, This is great, I have half of
my cookie left.
Cookie Bite #14: Polite means,
Excuse me, can yo please pass the
cookies?
Cookie Bite #15: Honest means, I
have to tell you something. The
butterfly didn’t really take the
cookie. I took the cookie.

Along with churches around theworld on Sunday, Oct. 7,
Londesborough United Church
observed the sacrament of
communion. Assisting Rev. Pat
Cook with serving the elements
were Helen Dale, Betty
Archambault, Cheryl Trewartha,
Erica Baxter, Carmen Drost and Ed
Salverda.
Taking communion as members of
the Londesborough United Church
faith community for the first time
were Fred and Hedwig Kreuger and
Boris and Heather Decker. Both
couples recently joined the
Londesborough congregation.
Anna Pollard has been an
important member of the
Londesborough church family for
many years. She chose this
worldwide communion day to
transfer her membership from St.
Paul’s in Saskatchewan. The
congregation welcomes you all.
The Blessings of Life was the
theme of the service for
Thanksgiving Sunday. The senior
choir’s anthem was Thanksgiving
Hymn.
During their time at the front, the
children and Rev. Pat talked about
friends coming together to have
meals. She told them that the meal
the adults would be observing had
special significance as it is a way to
celebrate God’s love for all. It is a
way to remind everyone that God’s
love is everlasting, from beginning
to end of life.
Psalm 100 was chosen as the
morning's responsive reading.
Following the feeding of the 5,000
with the loaves and fishes by Jesuson the hillside, Jesus dialogued with
His disciples. He impressed upon
them that He was the bread of life
given to the world by God. This
dialogue was found in John 6: 24-35.
