For safety’s sake
Slow moving vehicle caution signs were being placed on
Huron East township roads last week. The signs, an
initiative of the Huron Farm and Home Safety Association
will be going on the most travelled roads in municipalities
where they have been approved by local government.
Association president Mervyn Bauer (right, with Huron East
mayor Joe Seili) said that since the signs were placed on
the county highways several years ago, there has been no
loss of life due to rear-end collisions with farm machinery.
Besides Huron East, approval has been received from
Morris-Turnberry and South Huron. Howick said no and
there has been no response from the remaining
municipalities, according to Bauer. (Bonnie Gropp photo)
