Livestock for the week ending April
20 were 5,00l head of cattle, 691
lambs and goats. On Tuesday the
fed steers and heifers sold on a
steady market. The choice steers
and heifers sold $104 to $108 with
sales to $116. Second cut sold $100
to $103. Cows sold $2 to $3 higher.
On Thursday veal sold on a
steady market. Lambs and sheep
sold on a steady market. Goats sold
on a strong market. On Friday
calves and yearlings sold steady.
The vaccination sale saw the calves
and yearlings sell on a strong active
trade.
There were 680 steers on offer.

the Ausable Bayfield Maitland Valley Source Water
Protection Project’s inaugural coffee shop meeting Monday
at Cinnamon Jim’s in Brussels to provide information to
citizens about their initiative. This meeting in Brussels will
determine whether there are more held around the area,
but communications co-ordinator Ryan Conway hopes to
