the barn on Mr. Kenneth Weaver's
farm, East of the village, and it will be
erected in Wingham for a barn for the
horses in winter,
Mr, and Mrs. John Rintoul and fam-
ily of Toronto, spent the week-end
with Rintoul relatives, and with old
neighbours in this district. Mrs, Alex
Rintoul, who has .been in TorOnto for
a few weeks returned home With them.
Mr, and Mrs. Rowan of Ayton, spent
the week-end at the home of her sis-
ter, Mrs. Jas. St. Marie, and,with other
E, Wawanosh relatives.
Mr, Archie Purdon started to work
with Mr, 5. G, Gillespie's gang on the
road on Monday.
Mrs. Kernahan who has spent the
past few months at the home of her
brother,Mr. J, B. Morrison, and her
sister, rs. Reuben Tiffin, and other
relatives, left on Tuesday for her home
in Vancouver, , Mr. Walter James had the telephone
installed in his home last week.
Mr. and Mrs. John Hayes of Detroit,
spent a few days over the week-end at
the home of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tiffin.
and other relatives in Kinloss.
Miss Mildred McClenaghan visited
for a 'few days last week with Miss
Edith McClenaghan of Belgrave, and
is now nursing in Wingham Hospital.
Mr. John Johnston, Mrs. ,Cecil
Chamney and Mr. Gershom Johnston
motored to London on Saturday and
Mrs. Johnston, who has been in Victor-
ia Hospital there, for the past two
weeks returned home with them to her
sister's, Miss Martha Casemore in
Wingham.
Mr. and. Mrs. Charles Wood of Sea-
forth, and Mr. and Mrs. Edward Rob-
inson, and son, Jimmie, of Donnybrook,
visited with her parents, Mr. and Mrs.
Gershom Johnston over the week-end.
Mrs. Galbraith of Detroit spent a
few.days last week at the home of her
father, Mr. John T. Currie, who suffer-
ed another slight stroke on Saturday,
and who has been under the Doctor's
care. Mr.. and Mrs. Elgin Currie of
Islington also visited there during the
week-end,
The East Wawanosh Federation of
Agriculture held their Annual meeting
and Banquet on Wednesday evening
last, in the Memorial Hall here, when
the Institute Ladies catered to one
hundred and seventy ,guests. Mr. Sim-
on Hallahan, President, was in charge
of the program. Mr. Clarke Johnston,
with Miss Elaine Walsh at tli piano,
, led in Community Singing. Reeve J. D.
I Beecroft was in charge of the election
of officers for next year and the fol-
lowing were duly elected: President,

The Treasurer's report was read by
Norman 'McDowell, and Mrs. Emer-
son Rodgers sang several very pleasing
numbers. Mr. L. E. Cardiff, M.P., who
spent several weeks in the West gave
a very interesting talk, and Mr. L. R.
Brown, Agricultural Rep. for Huron,
:also spoke of the tightening up of farm
products, with the raising prices of all
grain. Mr. Russell Bolton spoke of the
Hospitalization scheme that the farm-
ers have been working on, saying they
have already taken in around $1400.00;
and had only an . outlay of a little over
$100.00 for sick bills, and have already
367 members. Mr. Harry Sturdy, Pres,
of Huron Federation, introduced the
speaker of the evening, Mr. Kenneth
lletzper, Past President of Waterloo
'.Federation. Mr, Betzner spoke of the
• rising grain and food prices as they
affeeted the F.A.O. and is.A.1), and
all eountries that were depending on
imported grains. He was given a hear-
ty vote of thanks for his very interest-
,
lug address. The Jackson Orchestra
provided music for the dancing that
• followed. The ladies also received a
hearty vote of thanks for their splendid
job of catering,

United Church held a very successful
Halloween Social in. the S. S. robin on
Monday evening, Many tame in cos-

Mr. Fred •Clubb passed' away in the
Wingham General Hospital on Monday
after a short illness. He Was a Son of
the late Mr. and. Mrs. John -Clubb. for-
merly of Whittchurch. He was not
married, but, made his home with his
sister, Mrs. :Norman Stewart of Luck-

Presbyterian Church on Friday even-
