The July meeting of the W.M.S. of
the United Church, was held in the
church school room on Friday, July
11th, :The meeting was called to order
with quiet music, Miss K. Hazelwood
at the 'piano. The President, Mrs. Mun:
roe was in the chair and the Invoca-
tion was followed by the singing of the
hymn Behold the Mountains of tine
Lord. Mrs. D. W. Rae led in prayer,
concluding with the Lord's prayer in
unison. Mrs. Gilbert Howes read the
scripture with a very interesting com-
mentary centring around the thought

standard profits claims must be filed with the Depart-
ment of National Revenue before 1st September, 1947.
All applications are required to be in such form and
contain such information as may be prescribed by the
Minister and the Minister may reject an application
that is not made in such form or that does not contain
such information.
The prescribed forms (S.P.1) are available at all Dis-
trict Income Tax offices of the Dominion Government.
All pertinent information required on the form must
be included br attached thereto in schedule form. Ten-
tative or incomplete forms or those filed after 31st
August, 1947, will not be accepted.

Entrance Examinations. All are pupils

ed from a month's vacation' with her
daughter,- Mrs. Fred Dustow, in Car-
rick Township. While there she was
an honoured guest at. the wedding of
her grandson, Allen Wylie of Howick,
and Miss Eleanbr Milligan, Clifford.'

Marian Gibson.
Captain John Barlow of New York,
and his 'daughter-in-law, Mrs. 'Jack
Barlow, and Ruth Ann, of Toronto,
spent part of last 'week with Mr: and
Mrs, James Sangster.
House Struck By Lightning.
Mr. Ted Smith local garage man
had his home struck with lightning
on. Thursday evening. The bolt struck
the, chimney demolished it, going down
of "Bearing one _another's Burdens"`.•
The hymn, Break day of God and the
benediction brought the Devotional
period to a close, The shower of arti-
-cies asked for to be forwarded to a
Missionary in Japan, brought a fine
response. Three bpxes were packed
containing new and used clothing, un-
derwear, hose, wool kerchiefs, print,
ilannellette, soap, medical supplies,
klim, carnation milk, raisins, canned
fruit, soups, junket, gum, candy and
other usethl articles, valued at $20:00„
also cash donations to cover postage.
Members of the WKS. are grateful
for gifts and money received from
many outside their group. The send-
ing of the boxes was a follow up of
Miss aurd's visit, when she was the
guest speaker at the Easter Thank-
offering meeting. A social hour fiat-
lowed when delicious refreshments
were served by members of the H,M.S.
W. I. Annual Picnic
Members of the Wroxeter Branch
of the Women's Institute have organ-
ized to plan their annual picnic which
will be held on the afternoon of Aug.,.

Committee, Mrs, Millward, Mrs. Drap-
er and Mrs. McKenney are planning
interesting sports •and fun for every-
one. A Fish pond will be an attraction

game in the village park on Friday
night. The Home boys winning with
a score of 11-9. A good crowd were
on hand to encourage the boys.
