Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs,
Harold Watts, Weston, Ontario,
Mr, William Mines, who has been in
the U.S.A. for the winter, returned re-
cently accompanied by his son, Cecil,
of Niagara Falls, N.Y., and George,
and a friend, Mr. Harry Myers of Ak-
ron, Ohio.
Mrs. Chas, Lawrence has been in
London and Morpeth, visiting her dau-
ghter and son-in-law, Rev. and Mrs.
H. Jennings.
WROXETER
St. James. Anglican Ladies Guild
held their regular monthly meeting on
Tuesday, May 13th., in the church
rooms. A quilt was completed and
during the business session plans were
made .for catering to the Lions Club
Zone, meeting in the Town Holl, May
21st,, also for participation in the
Deanery meeting in Gorrie in June, It
was decided also to plan a Bazaar for
the Fall and aprons were to be donat-
ed by the members at the June meet-
ing, Roll Call was answered by the
payment of fees, The Travelling Bas-
ket brought a nice financial return for
the Fund A social half hour was en-
joyed. Mrs. Caley pronouncing the
Blessing,. Next regular meeting will
be a quilting in the church rooms, "It
was reported."

OBITUARY
Mrs. Joseph H. Wade
In Wingham General Hospital, on
Friday, May 16th., 1947, following a
lingering illness, there entered into
rest, a, dearly beloved citizen in the
person of Mrs. Joseph H. Wade,
Wingham.
Mabel L. Tuck Wade, elder daught-
ter of the late Benjamin Tuck and
Catharine Schuendiman was born and
grew to womanhood at Clifford, Ont.
In 1906 she was united in marriage
with Joseph H. Wade, Fordwich, who
predeceased her in December, 1942,
and continued to live there until June,
1944, when she took up residence in
The late Mrs. Wade was a member
of the Anglican Church and active in
the work of the Women's Auxiliary,
also the Women's institutes Her cap-
able and wholehearted support was al-
ways given to every worthwhile un-
dertaking in the communities where
she lived.
Surviving are a sister, Cora, Mrs.
G. Whitfield, Wingham, and a brother,
Fred of Glenannan, to whom deepest
sympathy is extended. A brother, Al-
bert of Clifford, predeceased her two
months ago.
Funeral services were held on Mon-
day from Currie's Funeral Parlours,
to Trinity Anglican Church, Fordwich,
where a large number of old friends
gathered to pay a last tribute. Rev.
Jack James of Wingham was in charge
assisted by Rev. James Caley of IGor-
rie. Favorite hymns used were, "Brea-
the on Me Breath of God" and "Abide
with Me." By request, Mrs. Harold
Hamilton of Wroxeter, sang "No
Night There." The pallbearers were
Fred Tucic, D. S. MacNaughton, N.
Rintoul, E. Patterson, Thos. Wilson,
E. Williams. Flower bearers, Norman,
Clarence, Roy and Eric Wade,
Harold Hamilton, John MacNaughton,
Wm. Campbell, E. D. Harrison, Cliff
Hincks and D. Dane. Interment was
made in Fordwich cemetery.
William Robert Jobb
William Robert Jobb, 69, of 1569
Pougall Avenue, Windsor, district sup-
ervisor of the construction department,
the' Bell Telephone Company, Wind-
sor, died on Saturday, May 10th., at
his residence, following a lengthy ill-
ness.
Mr. Jobb was born in Wingham,
and had lived in Windsor for 35 years,

Beecroft decided in favour of the nega-
tive. Mrs. McClenaghan was in charge
of the recreation period. Lunch was
served and a social time enjoyed by all.
The Annual meeting of the Women's
Institute was held on Tuesday last
with the President, Mrs. Cecil Falcon-
er, in charge of the meeting. in the
short business period the ladies decid-
ed to hold a short course in Glove
Making in August. Mrs. George Fish-
er sang, When its Springtime in the
Rockies. Mrs. Grain was appointed
to take charge of the election of offi-
cers with Mrs. Lorne Johnston as sec-
retary, and the following officers were
duly elected, President, Mrs, Ben Mc-
Clenaghan; 1st. Vice, Mrs. J. G. Gil-
lespie; 2nd. Vice, Mrs. George Fisher;
