Mrs. Wm.' Deyell
There past into rest on ThAday,
November 21st., at- the home of her
son, Lot 21, Concession .14, East We-
wanosh, (the farm on which she was
born), Mary Jane Currie, widow of
the late Wm. Deyell, in her 86th year.
She was a life-long resident of this
district, her mother being the first wo-
man in Wingham. In her younger
days she took an active part in, the
work of St. Paul's Anglican Church,
where she taught the Young Men's
Bible Class,
She leaves to mourn a, loving Chris-
tian mother, one daughter, Mrs. John
Lutton of Toronto, one • son, George
Deyell, Wingham, six grandchildren,
l
and three great grand children. One
daughter, Mrs. Thos. Earl, predeceased
her two years ago.
The funeral conducted" by ' ReV. J.
James, took place from the home on
Saturday afternoon. The pallbearers
were, Messrs. Lance Grain, Roland
Grain, Alf. McCreight, Wm. Burchill,
once a member of her class; Jim Nor-
man and Alex Coutts.
James Adams
Mr. James Adams of Pleasant Valley
Wingham, passed away on Saturday,
November 23rd, in his 77th year, fol
lowing a heart attack. He was•bort
near Belmore, and thirty-Six years ago
was married in Wingham to Mrs. Ad-
ams, who survives. He is also surviv-
ed by one brother and three sisters.
The funeral service was held at his
late residence, Corner Albert and Alice
streets, on Monday at 2.30 p.m,, with
Capt. Agar of the Salvation Army read-
ing the burial service. Interment was
made in Wingham cemetery. The pall-
bearers were Messrs. Frank Seddon,
Arthur Law, Roy Hastings, Isaac Met-
calfe, Rolland Grain and Lance Grain,
Peter McDougal
Death came suddenly on Tuesday
evening, November 19th., to • a life-
long and greatly respected resident of
Turnberry Township in the person of
Peter McDougal, in his 81st year. He
had been in his usual health and with
some of his neighbours had spent the
afternoon drawing up wood from the'
bush. On his return to the house he
suffered a heart attack and passed
away before medical aid arrived.
Mr. McDougal was the. son of the
late Mr. and 1,11.s. Hugh McDougal,
pioneers of the township. For many
years he was a member of ' Eadies
Church, where he acted as Secretary-
treasurer and was also Clerk of the
Session. When, Eadies' Church was
closed over two years ago, he became
a member of Knox Presbyterian
Church, Bluevale. He had been a suc-
cessful farmer and had operated the
homestead until very recently, when he
disposed of' the farm continuing to
live in .the house, along with a sister,
Mrs, McTavish, one other sister sur-
vives, living in the Canadian West.
The funeral was held from his late
residence, 0th concession of Turn-
berry, on Thursday afternoon. ,The
service was conducted by Rev. Leland
C. Jorgensen, The pallbearers were
neighbours, Messrs. Chester Higgins,
Itobert Powell, Robert Breen, 'Harvey
Adams, Earl Elliott and Stanley Den-

16th., at the United Church Manse,
Gorrie, when Rev. Howes united in
marriage Marion Idan C;owdy, eldest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nelson
Gowdy of Gorrie, to Raymond George
Wark, son of Mrs. Nellie Roberts of
Windsor.
The bride wore a winter white wool
suit', trimmed with brown squirrel,
brown hat and accessories, and carried
an arm bouquet of bronze and yellow
baby Mums. She wore the groom's
gift, a string of pearls,
Following the ceremony a .reception
was held for the immediate friends at
Hotel London, London, Ontario. They
will reside in Windsor, Ontario.

She was the former Lizzie Jackson,
daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs,
David Jackson, 10th. con. of Howick.
She was born in 1884 and resided in
Howick Township until her marriage
thirty-five years ago. Surviving are
her husband and one sister, Mrs. Thos.
Bonnett. Interment was made in Kin.-
cardine cemetery,
