vice in Knox, Presbyterian Church,
The minister Rev, Leland C. Jorgenson
delivered an impressive message on

Death"in the bread, and in the cup,
as an anthem the choir sang, "Break
Thou the Bread of Life". '

Rally Day was observed at the
'morning service in ithe United Church
with the Superintendent, W, J. John-
ston acting as leader of the program,
prepared bythe Board of Christian Ed-
ucationon the theme, "Behold 1 send
you Forth". Scripture passages were
read by Kenneth and Harold Johnston
and Melvin Jermyn. The story "Truly
Brothers" was read by Mary Darling.
Special vocal numbers were sung by .
groups of Junior and Senior Girls,
Rev. Arthur Hewitt gave the address,
on "The`` Christian Crusade", The
church was decorated for 'the service.
The monthly meeting of the Wo-
men's Institute will be held on Thurs-
day, October 10th, at 2,30 o'clock

The "Child Welfare" meeting of the
W. I. was held. at. the home of Mrs.
C. Wade with • a splendid aftendance.
The Convener of the afternoon's pro-
gram was Mrs. H. Procter. • The Pre-
sident presided and opened in• the us-
ual manner.' The various reports were
given. It was decided to have a sale
of home-made baking and of any other
useful articles on Tuesday, October
8th., at 3 p.m. in the Orange Hall.
Lunch will also .be served.
The October meeting will be held
on the 4th Tuesday, October 22hd., in
place of the usual clay, The Women's
Institute dgreed.to sponsor a short
course for the Girls of the Commun-
