the late Fred Huth, con. 13, Howick,
Mr. Huth died in Listowel Memorial
Hospital from injuries received while
plowing on his farm. .

head motored to Port Hope, Mich.,. to
spend the week-end with Mrs. Mal-
colm Weatherhead and 'family.

ors with Mr. and Mrs. Jack Scott,

Mr, and Mrs. Percy Ashton attend-
ed. the wedding of the former's niece,
Miss Wilma Jean Watson, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Watson, Blyth, to
Mr. John Adair Glimmer, which took
place in, Trinity Anglican Church,
Ill3rth, The young couple will reside
in London.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry King and Mrs.
Ernest King were in Kingsville over
the week-end where they were guests
of Mr. and Mrs, Ernest King Jr., at
their cottage. They also visited in De-
troit and Leamington,
Mr.'and Mrs, 12, W. N. Wade were
guests of Mrs, Mabel Wade in Wing-
ham on Sunday afternoon,
Mrs. Robt. Ashton was called to
Monkton on-Monday morning her son-
in-law, Mr. Bish Avery, having passed
away. The sympathy of the commun-
ity is extended to Mrs, Avery and rel-
atives,
Mr. and Mrs. rn, Robbins of Tor-
onto, and Miss Rornelda Taylor of
Wingham, were guests on Sunday of
Mr, and Mrs. F. C, Taylor, and , of
Mr. and Mrs. Everard Carson,
Mrs. A. McLaughlin has been a
patient in Wingham Hospital since
Friday. Her condition although still
serious, is somewhat improved, we are
glad to learn, Her daughter, Mrs.. L.
DaBurgess who has been with her re-
turned to her home in 'Toronto on
Sunday evening,
Mr. and Mrs. Art Stephens and fain--
ily, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs.
Mervin Stephens int Thorndale.
Mrs. C. Ritchie is visiting in Toronto
this week.
Miss Kate Hazelwood of Wroxeter,
is a guest of Mrs. R. W, N. Wade this
week.
Rev. and Mrs. Cale' and David,
are spending a couple of days with rel-
atives in Rodney.
Rev. and Mrs. Arthur Kincaid of
Innerkip, visited with the latter's uncle,
Dr. Armstrong and Mrs, Armstrong,
on Saturday.
The Presbyterian W.M.S. met in the
church on Tuesday' evening of last
week. A splendid paper on British
Guiana was given by Mrs. John Sang-
ster, Fordwich, and several readings
by the members, Rev, Mr. McCarron
gave a short address.
Mr. Mac DuEurgess of St, Catharies,
was a visitor at Mr. Jos. Bennett's on
Sunday.
Mr. Robert Ferguson has 'returned
from an enjoyable trip to Saskatoon
and Edmonton where he visited his
son and brother. While in Edmonton
he met some former Howick residents,
Mr. Tom Young, Alex Strong and
Geo. Rakeup. In Saskatoon, he also
visited Mr. and Mrs, Wm. Edwards,
well-known to many around here.
Mr. Andy Edgar's new restaurant
opened on Thursday last. The inter-
ior has been newly decorated. We
wish Mr. and Mrs. Edgar the best of
luck,
Bishop Seager of London was a
guest of Rev. J. C. Caley and Mfrs.
Caley at the rectory on Tuesday after-
noon of lasto,veek.
Mr. and Mrs. Murray Hamilton and
son of Toronto, have been visiting the
former's mother, Mrs. C. Hamilton,
and brother, Mr. Hec. Hamilton.
Mrs. Dowdell of Toronto, is spend-
ing some time with her parents, Mr,
and Mrs. John Hyndman.
Canon R. S. Jones a former rector
of the Gorrie, Fordwich and Wroxeter
parishes, has been appointed rector of
the Anglican Church in Markdale, by
Bishop Seager and will take up his
new duties in September. Cancri
Jones has been rector of Trinity
Church, for the past five year's'.
