Halt Bus Blaze

Commerce Staff turned firemen Wed,
nesdey afternoon when a motor coach
bound for Wingham, standing at the .
bus stop, suddenly caught fire. Dash-
ing from their •cages and desks, tellers •
and accountants grabbed foamite
guisaers and in a few Minutes had the
blaze extinguished.
The bus was towed to a nearby gar-
age, where defective wiring, which
caused the fire, was repaired. 'The
amnage to the bus was negligible. Pas-
sengers reboarded the vehicle a few

Goderich Lions under the manage-

the local =campus here Tuesday even-
ing and set the Wingham Hurons back
7-2 before a large crowd of enthusias-
tic fans. The game from-startto finish
was a sizzler, with a free for all nearly
being thrown in for good measure. The
fireworks started when Lediett was

out.
The Hurons started off the game
on the right foot by scoring two runs,
but were held scoreless for the bal-

In an exhibition game here Tuesday
evening the Wingham girls defeated
the Blyth lassies 18-17 in a see-saw
contest, which could have been won
by either team, Blyth coming to bat
the sixth to score six runs. MacDon-
