held on Saturday afternoon.
Mrs. Wallace Goodyear
There passed away at her residence,
27 Mount Pleasant Ave., London, on
Tuesday, July 9th., Mrs. Wallace
Goodyear, in her 86th. year. She had
been ill for only a short time. In 1933
and 1934, she and her husband, who
predeceased her two and a half years
ago, resided in Wingham. She was a

Adam Schaefer
A former resident of Wingham,
Adam Schaefer, passed away at Kit-
chener, on Wednesday evening, July
10th., at the age of 80 years. Mr.
Schaefer was a member of St. And-
rew's Presbyterian Church,' Kitchener,
where he served as an elder for sever-
al years. A, son of the- late Mr. and
Mrs. Conrad Schaefer, he was born at
Bloomingdale, the family moving to
Heidelburg, where he spent his boy-
hood, later he moved to Wingham,
where he resided for many years, but
for the past twenty-seven years had
lived at Kitchener. He is survived by
his wife, the former Matilda Quaid of

Mr. W. Jas. Sims of Seaforth spent
the week-end with his son, Mr. Jamie
Sims.
Mr. Neil McQuarrie, Stratford, was
a visitor at the home of Mr. Samuel
Creighton during the week.
Mr. Whitehead of Toronto had
charge of the services in the United
Church on Sunday morning, and spoke
on behalf of the Canada Temperance
Act, and commended Huron and
Perth on the stand they had taken on
this vital question.
Rev, A. and Mrs. Sinclair and son
Norman spent a few days at Sarnia and
Grand Bend during the week.
The Glorious Twelth of July has
come and gone. Blyth was host to
the Orange lodges of this district.

The many friends of Mr. Sam Marsh
all are glad to know he is improving
nicely and able to be about again after
his recent accident.

a recent guest with his mother, Mrs.

week in honour of Mr. and Mrs. W.

The Women's Missionary Society of
Brick United Church was host to the
auxiliaries of St. Helen's and White-
church at a meeting at the church.
Guests were welcomed by the presi-
dent, Mrs. Herson Irwin, who also
conducted the worship service. The
Scripture lesson' was read by Mrs.
Cecil Coultes. Mrs. Gilbert Beecroft,
and member of the Brick Church W.
M. S., reported on the London Confer-
ence Branch meeting at St Thomas.
Mrs. Andrew Gaunt of St. Helens,
sang a solo and Mrs. Dustan B,eecroft
of Whitechurch, recited two poems. A
social hour was enjoyed at the close of
the meeting. Refreshments were serv-
ed by junior members of the society.
