age, on Saturday, March and.,- when
Rev, W, A. Beecroft, united in mAr-
riage, Elizabeth Margaret, younger
daughter of Mr, and Mrs. E, S, Lewis
and Douglas -Oliver, younger son of
Mrs. N,. L. Fry and the late N. L. Fry,
The young couple left on their
Wedding trip to London,. Toronto, and
Brampton, after Which they will reside
in Wingham.
OBITUARY
Mrs. Bert E. lc ennedy
The death occurred on Sunday,
March 3rd„ in St, Michael's Hospital,
Toronto, of Margaret Ward Currie,
beloved wife of Bert E. Kennedy, in
her 58th year.
Besides her husband she leaves to
mourn their loss, two sons, John and
James and one daughter, Mary, all of
Toronto.
She is also survived by her step-
mother, Mrs, Jennie Currie of Wing-
ham, four sisters, Mrs. John Kennedy
of Sarnia, Mrs. Lance Grain, Mrs.
John Burchill and Mrs, John McKag-
ue, and two '.brothers, 'Robert and
'I'homas, all of Wingham; John of
Wingham and 'Spence of Fostoria,
Ohio, predeceased her.
Service was 'conducted at Bates and
Haddocks Funeral Chapel, Avenue
Road, Toronto, Tuesday afternoon, at
3 o'clock. Interment in Parklawn
Cemetery.
Mrs. John Colvin
There passed away suddenly in
Wingham, on Sunday, March 3rd.,
Sarah Jane Hardy, widow of the 'late
John Colvin, in her 70th year. Mrs.
Colvin suffered a heart attack about
midnight on Saturday and died three
hours later. She was born near Tees-
water and in 1900 married John Col-
vin who predeceased her thirty-one
years ago. About ten years ago she
moved to Wingham, from Teeswater.
In religion she was a Presbyterian.
Surviving are two daughters and four
sons, Mrs, Clayton (Shirley) Fryfogle,
Wiriharn; Mrs. -Elmer (Grace) Ruhl,
Hanover; John, Wingham; George of
Vancouver, B. C.,; Harley and Fred of
Teeswater; also a sister, Mrs. T. H.
Lytle, Roland, Man., arid a brother,
Alfred Hardy of Winnipeg.
The funeral' service is being held
this afternoon, (Wednesday) at 2
o'clock from the residence of Tier son-
in-law, Mr. Clayton Fryfogle, Frances
Street, Wingham, and will be conduct-
ed by Rev: A. Nimmo, Interment in
Teeswater cemetery. The pallbearers:
John, Roy and William Colvin, John
Ireland, David McDonald and Adam
Little.

with full skirt, 'silver shirring at bod-
ice and shoulder and bishop sleens.
She wore a shoulder-length veil caught
of her head with a bandeau of
white flowers. ,Pfer shoes were in san-
dal style white satin with silver trim,
and a corsage of pink carnations and
fern eompleted the lovely costume,
She carried a white leather prayer
book, from which fell white satin
streamers entwined with, tiny pia];
buds. It was a gift from St. Mark's
Anglican Church in honor of the first
wedding ceremony held in this church.
Miss Mary Nesbit of Toronto, attend-
ed here sister as brides-maid, wearing
a street-length gown of french blue
sheer, fashioned on the same lines as
the bride's costume, with shoulder-
length veil in matching colour and cor,
sage of deep pink carnations and fern.
Mr. Albert Govier, Auburn, brother of
the bridegroom, was the best man.
The ushers were Mr, Gordon R. Tay-
lor and Mr. Thomas Haggitt: The
pews for the guests were marked with
white satin bows and streamers,
The reception was held at the home
of the bride's parents, Mrs. Nesbit re-
ceiving the guests wearing a smart
frock of field green figured crepe with
black accessories and a corsage of Tal-
isman rosebuds. Guests numbering
twenty-one were seated at a T-shaped
table. The decorations were carried
out in a colour scheme of pink and
white, along with lighted tapers in
sillier holders and bowls of yellow daf-
fodils. A three-storey wedding cake
completed the table decorations, Fol;
lowing dinner, toasts were proposed
by Rev. 3, L. H. Henderson, Mr. Al-
bert Govier and Mr. Alfred Nesbit.
Assisting in serving were: Misses
Alma and Dorcas Sillery of Exeter,
nieces of the bridegroom; Agnes Mas-
on of Belgrave; Amy Toll of East Wa-
wanosh, Laura Phillips of Auburn.
Tea was poured by Miss Mason from
a silver teapot, an heirloom from 'the
Old Land, a gift from an uncle, Rev.
R. B. Nesbit, of Yorkshire, England, to
Mrs. Thomas Grasby, who desired that
it be used for this happy occasion.
Following the reception, the young
couple left for a honeymoon' to be
spent at London, the bride travelling
in a dress of gold figured silk jersey,
with brown tweed coat matching
accessories. On their return they will
reside on the bridegroom's farm in
Hallett Township.
March 2nd., the wedding day, also
marked other anniversaries in the
bridegroom's family, His nephew,
William Henry Govier, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Carl Govier, of East Wawanosh,
was one year old on Saturday. It was
also the birthday of the late Harry
Govier, grandfather of the bridegroom.
Deep regret, was felt at the absence of
the bridegroom's grandmother, Mrs.
Harry Govier, who was unable to be
present on account of illness. This
lady will mark her 86th 'birthday late
in April.

Rev. Father Paquette officiated at
the marriage in the Sacred Heart
Church, Wingham, of Adrienne Ger-
aldine, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan-
iel Cassidy of Bluevale, to Joseph
Charles King, son of Mr. and Mrs,
Daniel' King of Tecswater," on Febrtt-
ary the 28th.
The bride looked lovely in an ivory
slipper satin gown cut on princess lines
with sweetheart neckline and Queen
Anne collar with long train. Her veil
hung from a brocaded satin cap topped
with pearls. She carried pink carna-
tions and snapdragons.
Miss Winona Cassidy, sister of the
bride, was 'maid of honour; wearing
Burma rose taffeta gown with sweet-
heart neckline and shoulder-length
veil and carrying snapdragons. Mr.
John King attended his brother as
best man.
Leonard Di •Novo, nephew of the
bride was page boy in a white viyella
flannel suit trimmed with satin.
Little Sharon Anne Grubbe, neice of
the bride, was flower girl, wearing
peach net over satin and carried snap-
dragons. After a short honeymoon,

gay of Johanna Hill roses, sweet peas
and blue iris,
The bridesmaids were Miss Louise
Lloyd and Miss Ann VanWyck of
Wingham. Their dresses were sweet
briar pink tafttta with portrait neck-
lines, net yokes and short sleeves
edged with a flange of tarpunto work.
They carried nosegays of Rapture ros-
es, sweet teas and'hlue iris.
For travelling the bride chose a two
piece suit of lime mint, matching straw
hat and corsage of pink Delight roses
and white bavardia,

G. Burrows RCNVR, Toronto, an.d the
ushers Lt. N.. A. Stewart, RCAMC,
and Sturgeon Lt. F. Yandel, RCN, of
Saskatoon, Sask.
Th bride's mother looked charming
in a fong dress of-lime green crepe,
with gold trim and flowered hat. The
groom's mother was gowned in. sap-
phire velvet with sequin trim and mat-
ching hat.
During the signing of the register,
Mr. Craig Armstrong of Wingham,
sang the Lord's Prayer.
The reception was held at the home
of the bride's aunt, Mrs. T. F. Rahilly,

were present from Wing-hani and Tor-
onto, and from Sasketchewr.
The young couple are spending their
honeymoon in Montreal, after which
the groom will be stationed in Halifax.

the roads out.
