Following the ceremony the 'bridal .
party motored to Toronto, Oshawa.
Brantford and Kitchener, On their
return they will reside on the groom's
farm in Morris Township.
Rideout - Willits
A quiet wedding was solemnized at
the Manse, Wroxeter, on Saturday,
November 24th., at 3 o'clock when
Rev. J, L. Foster, united in marriage,
Bertha Eva, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Melvin Willits, and Mr, Emerson A.
Hideout, son of Mr. and the late Mrs.
W. J, Rideout of Waterloo. The bride
was attired in a floor-length dress of
Normandie blue with silver trim and
a corsage of pink mums and snapdrag-
ons. Her accessories were black, She
was attended by her sister, Miss Kath-
leen Willits, who wore a grey dress,
and a corsage of mums and carnations,
with black accessories, Mr. Dean
Earngey of Fergus was best man. Fol-
lowing, the wedding dinner which was
served at the home of the 'bride's par-
ents to the immediate relatives and
friends.
The young couple will reside in
Waterloo.
OBITUARY
David Hutton
A former resident of Turnberry, Da-
vid Hutton, passed away suddenly in
Cleveland on Thursday, Nov. 22nd, in
his '71st year. He spent his early life
in Turnberry, going to Cleveland about
45 years ago. Mr. Hutton was a con-
ductor on the Big Four Line. Rev.
John Hutton of Pine River is a bro-
ther.
DIED
PILON—In Toronto, on Tuesday
morning, November 27th., Arthur
Joseph Pilon. The remains will ar-
rive by motor about 2 p.m., on Fri-
day afternoon, when burial will take
place in Wingham R. C. Cemetery.
Mr. Pilon was at one time a resident
of Wingham, holding the position of
Supervisor of Canadian National
Telegraph Lines.
BLUEVALE
Molesworth Student Minister Presided
Mr. Chas. McCarroll, 'student mini-
ster at Moleiworth and Gorrie occup-
ied the pulpit in Knox Presbyterian
Church on Sunday morning. His sub-
ject was "The Lost Son" based on the
words of the parable and when he came
to himself. Mr. McCarrol also sang
a solo-"God Understands .and Cares".
The Sunday School is preparing for a
Christmas Social. •

The conference sponsored by the
East Huron District Women's Instit-
utes was reld in the Community Hall
here on Wednesday afternoon, with
the diStrict vice-president, Mrs. Chas.
A'Iathers, presiding.
The guest speaker, Miss Ester Slick-
ter, of the Women's Institutes Branch,
Department of Agriculture, Toronto.

She introduced her subject by speak-
ing briefly on investments. Advising
women to make a study of finances
and have a better understanding of the
question. She spoke of some -of the
advantages and disadvaritages of keep.

could control spending. She drew up
a suggested chart for keeping an
account of income and spending, stres-
sing such points as making a record
at the time of purchase and accuracy

Tield First Mid-Week Meeting
The Y. P, U. of the United Church
met for the first mid-week meeting for
the fall and winter season on Friday
evening. The president, Fleming
Johnston presided and conducted the
opening exercises, Miss Wilda Brec-
kenridge read the scripture lesson,

Red Cross Shipment Made
The Red Cross Unit met at the
home Of Miss Duff this week for quilt-
ing. Although the regular business
meeting was cancelled the members
discussed the question of continuing
the Red Cross work or not. A decis-
ion will be made before the end of the
year.
Mrs. Mary Robertson reported, hav-
ing delivered the following to Wing-
ham, 10 dresses, 2 and 4 year size; 15
suits pyjamas, 8 and 6 year size; 5
night gowns 6 years and 3 pr. bloom-
ers, 1 quilt. Mrs, Arthur Shaw deliver-
ed 4 men's sweaters, 1 girls sweater
and 2 pair socks. Following the meet-
ing, the hostess served tea and a social
half hour was enjoyed.
Mr, and Mrs, Arnold Lillow have
returned from their wedding trip and
are getting settled in their home at the
store.
Mr. and Mrs. Smith Robertson,
Kitchener, spent the week-end with his
parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Robert-
son.
Mr John Hall is a patient in St
Josepr's Hospital, London.
Mr. and. Mrs. W. W. Mann have
gone to Stratford, where they intend to
spend the winter with members of their
family.

Had Peanut Removed. From Lung
While the family of Mr. and Mrs.
John Fischer were enjoying a treat of
peanuts, Mary, their - two-year-old
daughter, swallowed one causing se-
vere coughing, for a time it seemed
as though there would be no bad
effect, but an Xray showed the peanut
located in the lung. The little girl was
taken to a Hamilton Hospital where
it was successfully removed and after
a few days was able to return to her
home.
Miss Ester Slickter, Toronto, was
the guest of Mrs. Edward Johnston
while in the village.
Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Gates and
son. Wilmot, of Cherrywood, spent the .
week-end with Mr. and Mrs. Robert
Shaw. Mr. Gates joined a party of
local hunters and were successful fir
securing a deer.
