Defeat Blyth 6-2 Friday Night
Friday night saw the Winning streak
of the Wingham Lions defeat once
more the Blyth team. Although, the
score was 6-2 for Wingham, myth
never once stopPed battling although
they didn't score as often as the Lions.
It looks like it will be Blyth 'who will
give Wingham a battle in this league.
They -have bigger boys than Wing-
ham which they used all through the
last period, but only succeeded once in
slipping the puck past the red line.
The first period opened with a bang
with. Wingham .scoring• five of their
goals and Blyth one. Kress opened up
the scoring with two goals followed by
Ernest then Edgar and Seli, while
Watson' scored for Blyth, The second
period saw no scoring on either team
and ended the score the same, Wing-
ham 5. Blyth 1. Soon after the start
of the third period Seli took a clean
pass from Kress making the score 6-1.
Then Lee slipped one past Johnston
making the final score, Wingham 6,
Blyth 2.
The last period was an unfortunate
one for Wingham as Johnny Johnston
and Seli both received a slash in the
face with a stick and had to retire to
the dressing room but both returned
to the game.
The ice was fast'and the game was
fast and one well worth watching.
There haven't been large crowds so
far-it would be a big boost to the
players if more fans came out to sup-
port them.
