Wylie - hake
Inverary United Church was the
scene of an early spring wedding at
two o'clock on the afternoon of Wed-
nesday, April twenty-first, when the
Rev. William Parker united in mar-
riage Daisy Woodburn, eldest daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Ethbert E. Lake,
and Honorary Captain, the Rev. Wil-
liam George Wylie, B.A„ B,D., young-
er son of Mrs. Wylie and the late
John Wylie of Gorrie, Ontario.
Given in marriage by her father, the
fair-haired bride was charming in the
beautiful hand-made blue and rose
shot taffeta wedding gown which had
been worn by her • paternal great-
grandmother as a bride of a century
ago. She also wore about her should-
ers the collar of real lace which had
been a part of the original` bridal
costume. A halo of ,orange blossoms
held in place her lovely, full-length,
appliqued veil of white English Wet
and she carried a bouquet of Briar-
cliff 'e roses.
The bridal attendants were the
two little nieces of the bride, Jean
Ferguson and Jacqueline Teppett, who
wore floor-length gowns of white
taffeta and carried old-fashioned nose-
gays, Little Glenn Ferguson, nephew
of the bride, was ring-bearer, and the
ushers were Mr. Frederick S. Teppett
and Mr. Glenn George,
The citurth was bcatuifully decor-
tea with taster lilies, ferns, pussy
willows, snap dragons and calla lilies,
while white cathedral tapers burned at
the attar. bridal party entered
the ChM-tell to the strains of the Ilridal
Chorus from Lohertgrin, played by
Mrs. C. II. Arthur, who also played
softly during the ceremony and the

Cronyn Memorial Church, London,
1, was the scene' of a quiet wedding on
Wednesday, April 28th., when 'Canon
Quintin Warner united in marriage,
Isabel Anne, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
P. S. Milligan, Wroxeter, to Norman
Roy Ashby, R,C.N.V.R., son of Mr.
and Mrs. F. Ashby', Brantford.
• The bride's gown was of floor-
length white sheer crepe; finger-tip
veil; and she carried a bouquet of red
roses and white sweet peas.. Mrs,
Jack Splan, Goderich, was matron of
honour in pink net over taffeta, with
matching shoulder-length veil, and
carried white carnations and pink
sweet peas. Bridesmaid for her sister
was Miss Helen, in heaven blue net
over taffeta with matching shoulder-
length veil, and carried blue sweet
peas and pink carnation. Mr. Bud
White, R.C,N.V,R.; of' London, was
groomsman.
After the reception at Glenn Allen
villa, the young couple left on a short
honeymoon, the bride travelling in a
two-piece navy frock, tiny navy veiled
hat, with matching accessories. On
their return the groom will go to the
coast, and the bride return to her
position in London.

After the ceremony the bridal party
and relatives and friends proceeded to
the home of the bride's parents where
Mrs, Lake received the guesrli wearing
a becoming gown of heaven blue
crepe with black accessories and cor-
sage of red roses, Mrs. Wylie, the
mother of the groom, who also receiv-
ed, wore an effective gown of black
crepe with matching Accessories and
corsage of American Beautyy roses,
Snap dragons were tastefully ar-
ranged about the reception room and
the bride's table, centred with the four-
tiered .wedding cake, was dainty with
.sweet peas in pastel colours.
Later, amid showers of confetti and
good wishes, the bride and groom left
for a short honeymoon, the bride
travelling in a smart grey wool suit
with white sheer blouse and black
accessories and wearing a corsage of
red roses. They will reside in Chat-
ham where the groom is now station-
ed as chaplain at No, 12 Basic Train-
ing Centre.

A wedding of interest took place at
the home of Rev, and Mrs, Robb of
Camlachi at 2 p.m., April 24th, 1943
when Isabel, eldest daughter of Mr.
and Mrs, Jack Thymic of Morris, be-
came the' bride of Glenn Garvin,
second son of David. and ilvIrs,,Smith
also of Morris; The bride wore a
street-length dress of navy with
poudre blue accessories. •The young
couple will reside an the 6th of Morris.

Knox United Church parsonage at
Auburn was the scene of a pretty but
quiet May wedding on Saturday morn-
ing at 10.30 o'clock when Rev. G. W.
Rose united in marriage Margaret
Donalda (Donna) Armstrong, London,
eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark
Armstrong, 8th concession of West
Wawanosh, and Corporal , Melvin
James Craig, Royal Canadian Ord-
nance Corps, London, son of Mr. and
Mrs. James T. Craig, St. Augustine.
The bride wore 'a black pin stripe
tailored suit, with matching accessor-
ies with 'corsage of American Beauty
rosebuds. Miss Mary Al, Armstrong,
West Wawanosh, was her sister's
bridesmaid, wearing a blue two-piece
suit with matching accessories and a
corsage of pink carnations. Mr. Arn-
old Craig, St. Augustine, brother of
the bridegroom, was best man. After
the ceremony the bridal party motored
to the home of the bride's parents
where the wedding dinner was served
to the immediate families. The- home
was pretilly decorated with pink and
white streamers and baskets of daf-
fodils and other floivers. Later Corp-
oral and Mrs. Craig left for Toronto.
On their return they will reside in
London, Ont. Guests present at the
wedding were: Mrs, William Craig, of
London; Mr. and Mrs. William J.
Thompson, Auburn; Miss Jean Robin-
son, London; Miss Elaine Bamford,
Auburn,.
