Mr. 'Fred j, Cook attended the fun-
eral of his cousin, Mr. James Hend-
erson, of Galt,. on Wednesday.
The sympathy of the community is
extended -to the family and friends of
Mrs. Donald Patterson, who passed
away on. Monday at the home of her
son Roy, of -Goderich.

Mrs. McVittie, the Red Cross repre-
sentative reported 39 quilts, 84 pr.

4. number of girls dresses made in the
year. In the afternoon the W. M. S.
meeting was held with the president,
Mrs. McVittie, presiding, Christmas
Carols were sung during the meeting,
The • Scripture lesson, The Christmas
Story, was read from the 'various gos-
pels by Mrs, Walter Cook. Mrs, R.
Vincent, Mrs, Alva McDowell, Mrs.
W. McVittie. Christmas • readings
were given by Mrs. Marvin McDowell,
Mrs, A. E. Walsh, jVIrs. McVittie.
Prayers were offered by Mrs. MeVit-
tie, Mrs, M, McDowell, Mrs, R, Vin-
cent. Eleven members answered the
roll call, The treasurer reported over,
$180,00 raised during the year. The
secretary gave a brief report on years
work, It was decided to send Christ-
mas boxes to some of the boys in the
service. The roll call for January is
to be the paying of dues and a New
Years resolution. Mrs, A. E. Walsh

Women's Association Elect
The postponed meeting of the Wo-
men's Association of the United
church was held in the Sunday School
room oil Friday afternoon with the
president, Mrs. Earl Hamilton presid-
ing. '
The meeting was opned with sing-
ing, a scripture passage' read by Mrs.
Eliza Fell and repeating the Lord's
Prayer in unison.
The treasurer's report was present-
ed by Mrs. J. Curtis, After discus-
sion on a few items of business,' ,a
programme was enjoyed.. Readings
were given by Mrs. Earl Hamilton,
Miss Duff,: Mrs. Fell and Mrs. C.
Tavener and little Miss Phyliss Ham-
ilton. and Eleanor Smith contributed a
Christmas song. A letter from a sail-
or, who had. received a ditty bag, was
read by Mrs: Fell.
