in the Bluevale Public School this
year has tendered her resignation and

as teacher. Mrs. Aitken is no strang-
er having taught here for a number
of years before going to Hollen and
her home is in the village,

spent a couple of days with her little
friend, Eleanor Smith.

Executive Meeting of the Maitland
Presbyterial Society of the W.M.S. of
the Presbyterian Church in St. And-
rew's Church, Wingham on Friday.
Mrs. Mooney and son Roy, Toronto,
spent Sunday with Mrs. A. D. Smith.
Roy will spend the summer here.
Mr, and Mrs. George Donaldson,
Miss Sanderson and Mr. Thomson,. of
Toronto, are spending the next month
at their home here.

churches, Members of the Cemetery
Board and Women's Institute Execu-
tive, also two of the church organists.
The service ,will be held . on Sunday,
July 5th at 3 in the afternoon, cons
ducted by local ministers with a guest
speaker to give 'the address. Special
musical numbers will be given.
School Held Sports Day
A very successful Sports Day was
held at Bc1grave School on the after-
noon of Thursday, June 18. The win-
ner of the girls championship was
Muriel Brydges, grade 5. The boys
championship was awarded to Tommy
Wade; also of grade 5. Such a keen
interest was taken in these sports that
it is hoped that this may become an
annual event, at this school,
Held Lucky Tickets
The lucky tickets for the tray and
cushion, made by the Junior Red
Cross of Belgrave School were drawn
on Friday last. The winners were:

During the afternoon. a program of
sports was conducted by Miss Iva
Scott of Alma, Races and softball be-
ing main features, Those not taking
Part enjoyed visiting and the children
had a happy time at the swings and
slides. A hearty supper was partaken
of, which was set in the recreation hall
and at the conclusion of which a short
program and business meeting was
held with the president, Douglas Scott
of Alma, in charge. Recitation, Nor-
een Scott, Aline; Solo, Catherine Keat-
ing, Belgrave; Recitation, Billie Coul-
tes, Belgrave; Solo, Miss Ruth Mitch-
ell, Rothsay. Responding to the Presi-
dent's request for short speeches were
L. Cameron, Elora; John Scott, Bel-
grave; Elmer Ireland, Winghaut, who
all voiced the .same feeling about the
reunion that they were glad they had
come and hoped to be present next
year, An interesting musical contest
was held in which all took part. Min-
utes of last years' meeting and treasur-
er's report were read by Mrs. Harm-
on Mitchell, Rothsay. The following.
officers were elected:President, Doug-
las Scott, Alma; Vice-Pres., Harmon
Mitchell, Rothsay; Sec'y,-Treas., Mrs.

Mrs. Alex Casemore of Belmore.

The 75th Anniversary of the town-
ship of East Wawanosh as a muni-
cipality is to be celebrated at a mon-
ster picnic to be held at the 10th
Bridge on Wednesday, July 1st. The
Reeve, Raymond Redmond and mem-
bers 'of the Council are busy prepar-
ing a worthwhile program of music
and sports for this great event which
promises to be one of the best in the
history of the township. A hearty in-
vitation is extended to all, to come
and a good time is assured.

June 22 to attend the convention of the
Canadian Nurses Association being

of Princeton at their summer cottage
at Point. Clarke. Later in the month,
Miss Kay Townend of London will
join them for a two-week vacation,

dustries meeting of the Belgrave
Women's Institute was held at the
home of Mrs. Harold Procter, with
Mrs, Stewart Procter as convener of
the program and the President, Mrs,
Earl Anderson conducting, opening
the meeting with God Save The King
and the Lord's Prayer repeated in un-
ison. Minutes of last meeting and
treasurer's report were read and ad-
opted. It was decided to have a two-
day knitting Course in October with
an instructor from the Department of
Agriculture, Toronto. Mrs, H. Proc-
ter was appointed to represent the
branch on the Retail Prices and
Trades Committee. Plans are under
way for the Annual Memorial Service
at the Brandon Cecetery. An excel-
lent report of the District Annual
meeting at Kingsbridge, was given by
the delegate, Mrs, H. ?rotten Mrs,
Richard Procter have a paper on
"Honey" and the Roll Call was "Re-
cipes calling for honey instead of
sugar.
The Historical Research meeting
will be held in July at Mrs, yohti And-
erson's ,and all. the grandmother's in
the econtritmity are specially invited to
attend, Mrs, John Wiekstead sang a
solo entitled, "Jesus remembers when
the world forgets." The collection
was received and the meeting closed
with the Institute Ode. Lunch was
served by the hostess assisted by Mrs,
8, Procter and Mrs. Gordon Higgins.
