Plans well underway for catering tent at match .
The people of Brussels,.
• Morris and Grey have the
priviledge of operating one
of two Offical. Catering Tents
at the 78 Intrnational
Plowing Match, The money
realized from the venture
hopefully $10,000, will go to
the Brussels, Morris and
Grey Community Centre
Fund.
The group organizing the
venture have been planning
for over a year. Carol and
Alan Campbell, Joe and
Kathleen Semple and Jack
and Audrey Cardiff are the
committee chairmen. Jim
and Leona Armstrong, Jack
and Esther McCutcheon,
Bob and Renee Richmond,
Clarence and Rose Marie
Bishop, Shirley and George
Wheeler, George and Aileen
Mutter, George and Barb
McCutcheon, Don and
Marilyn McDonald, Valerie
and Wallie Black and Carl
and Betty Graber have done
the ground work and
advanced the F.M.& G.
Catering Tent program.
A meeting Sept 131h at
8:30 in the community centre
will he the final check on the
hundreds of details looked
after by the committee. The
public is invited to attend
this meeting and help
finalize the plans for the
catering booth, Following the
meeting the committee will
be able to answer questions
about time and place for
workers and 'food and the
information will then appear
in the Brussels Post com-
menting on arragements the
organizing committee
emphasized that the com-
munity as usual has been
most co-operative offering
time, material things and
money to help show that
people arc proud to live in.
Huron County, Frank Work-
man and Willis Knight have
been very helpful giving
their time to help plan the
tent. The tent on lot 405 is to
be up September II (11 ready
for the people of Brussels
Morris and Grey to cater to
the '78 International Plowing
Mal e
The Brussels Morris and
Grey Catering tent is up and
the area carpenters and
electricians who have volun-
teered their services arc hard
at work.
The tent has a snack bar
area equipped. to. serve light.
snacks. and, beverages; as.
well as a dining area set up to
serve full course meals in
smorgasbord fashion. 'The
dining line starts at .11 a.m,.
A lot of preparation nas to be
done before this hour. Daily
workers are to meet at the
Community Centre by 7:30
a.m. Here car loads are
organized, plowing match
passes issued and health
department food handling
rules given. Bring an apron
and comfortable shoes!
The final planning meeting
is to be held Sept. 14th at
8:30 at the 'Community
Centre. If possible a visit to
the Plowing Match site will
be included, People needing
rides should meet at the
Community Centre.
