fastball tournament
The Walton Intermediates'
men's team had their most
exciting week/end of this
year's ball season on Labour
Day weekend. The 10th
annual Goderich Industrial
Fastball. Tournament proved
to be Walton's big win. They
captured the B Champion-
ship after defeating Wing-
ham in the final game.
Walton played the first
game of the weekend on
Saturday at 2 p.m. against
Lucan Irish. Nine and de-
feated them by a score of 6-1.
Rick McDonald was on the
mound for Walton and there
threw a two hitter.
Walton's second game was
played on Sunday' at 6 p.m.
against the Zurich Buckeyes.
McDonald threw a one hitter
and Zurich was defeated 2-0.
Walton then advanced to
the semi-finals aginst Port
Lamboton at noon on.
Monday. Walton defeated
them by a score of 4-0 and
McDenald again hurled a one
hitter.
Th,.: win put Walton into
the final game. against Wing-
ham at 6 p.m. on Monday.
McDonald again was on the
mound for Walton and
pitched a one hitter. Don
Edgar took the loss for
Wingham. McDonald's
home run in the bottom of
the seventh inning clinched
the 1-0 victory.
All the Walton men played
finedefensive ball and were
strong batters during the
entire weekend. Even after
