Climate can't
help. lungs
People who have breathing
troubles, from lung diseases and
allergies, often think that moving
to another climate from where
they now live will help. Often it
doesn't. Climate is no cure for
emphysema, bronchitis or
asthma,
This is one of the things that
physicians have found it
necessary to point out to people
for some years. Sufferers from
lung disease have long had the
notion that moving to a state like
Arizona will solve their problems.
But, too often, those that do find
the same or other problems
waiting for them.
Every lung sufferer is different.
What's good for one may be bad
for another. The very hot and
often very dry summers in
,Arizona, for example, may be just
the thing for some patients, but
just the wrong thing for many
others.
The Arizona Lung Association
gives information to people who
are smart enough to inquire about
living conditions there before
making plans to move. It points
out that there are mountains as
well as dese its in that state and
pollens from p lants growing in
both areas. AlSo, like every other
part Of the country, Arizona TIOW
has a goodly share of air
pollution.
