Brussels Ladies Curling Club-
had their annual meeting and tun
day on Tuesday March 28th.
After a 'pot luck' lunch the
president, Edna Pearson, con-
ducted the . meeting and see-
The local hockey season came
to a close last week when the
Bantam team lost out to Tiverton
in the Consolation playoffs. Liver-
ton was in town on Monday night
for their second game of the
series after winning the first
game at home 7-1.
The Brussels boys rallied back
on home ice and defeated Liver-
ton 10-4. Ken Cousins led the
team with 3 goals, Brian Tenpas
2, Kevin Deitner 2, Ken Higgins,
Steve Knight, Terry Glanville 1
each. Assist went to Paul John-
son, Ken Higgins, Leg Black, Ken
Cousins, Brian Tenpas, Steve
Knight, Kevin Deitner.

The ladies all agreed the new
community centre is exceptionally
well equipped with lots of plea,

Tiverton returned , to Brussels
for the third and deciding game
on Tuesday night. In a good game
of hockey the boys lost 4-3. The
score was tied 1-1 at the end of
the first period. At the end of the
second it was 3-3.
The only goad in the third
period was scored by. Tiverton
with Brussels having equal
chances but couldn't beat the
Tiverton goalie. Scoring for Brus-
sels was Ken Cousins with 2
go,als, Mike Watson 1. Assists
went to Ken Higgins and Brian
Tenpas. A good season of hockey
boys and we'll see you all next
year.

rotating to take turns at each

Krauter Karen Uhler and Nancy
Corrigan were second. Joyce
Alexander,, Jean Oldfield, Betty
Finch and Donna Bauer third. All
the ladies who competed received
a plant.
The Scott Memorial Trophy
was presented to Joyce Alexander
and her rink Edythe Warwick and
Sharon Cowman winners of Jan-
uary draw with 491/2 pts. Elaine
Mutter, Edna Pearson and Nancy
'Corrigan won Feb. draw 41 pts.
