They managed to hold the upper hand and won by a 2-0 score. After a scoreless first period,. Robbie Cardiff scored. in the second from Kevin Wheeler with Darrin Watts scoring from DaInny Achilles in the third. This win gave Brussels the win in the best of 3 series. The Bantam team played immediately following but weren't so lucky. They had lost their first game at home and played a good game in a see saw battle that ended 5-4 in Teeswater's favour. Brian Tenpas led the way with 2 goals, with Ken Cousins and Paul Johnston getting singles. These three players also picked up the only assists in the game. The Midget team travelled to Teeswater on Tuesday night where they lost their second game to Teeswater in overtime. Scorers weren't available. On Wednesday night at home there were 3 games played. Blyth Novice were in town for a six o'clock game. The home team scored a 7-0 victory. Scoring for Man is master breeder ••George L. Hayden, Gorrie, Ontario has been awarded A' Master Breeder Shield by the Holstein-Friesian Association of, Canada, This is the highest honour achieved by a Canadian Holstein breeder and indicates his ability to breed purebred Holsteins that}are above average in both type and production. The award was presented at the Annual Meeting held in. Toronto, February 8, 1978. The Hoydens also received a Master Breeder Shield in 1964 in the name of Thomas Hayden and Son (George) George and his Wife took over the whole herd after ThomaS' death in 1961. At that time Waldorfititida, a fresh two-year-old was added to the herd. On Sunday afternoon they journeyed to Drayton where they weren't quite so lucky. They were enjoying a 3-0 lead at one time but were eventually c ght up to - and surpassed with the final score being Drayton 7 Brussels 6. A hard game to loose. We have managed to get some local ice time and the club will be at home on Friday night at 8:30 to the same Drayton club. Come out and support the club and enjoy a. good game of hockey. For those who may not have known Bob Rowe is a patient in Victoria Hospital. In London. The injury to his eye was not healing and he had to be taken to London last. Thursday. He is being confined to bed for a number of days. On Sunday the Doctor's reported that the bleeding had stopped in the eye and we hope it remains that way. The Intermediate hockey team travelled out of town for two good games of hockey this past week. On Friday evening they were in Mitchell where they picked up a 10-8 victory. I understand at one point in the game they were trailing the. Mitchell squad, but finally got things together and came out on top with a' win. At the end of the first period it was a 1-1 tie with Brussels going to to score 5 more unanswered goals and getting 6-1 victory. Their second game. will be played in Zurich against GrandBend on Monday night. On S.aturday afternoon the Atom team returned- to Seaforth for an exhibition game. They played with seven players and two goalies and managed to come with a 3-3 tie. Brussels three goals were scored by Sean Kieffer,K.evin McArter, and,Dean Wheeler. Seaforth 's three goals were all scored by David McLlwain.
